Dr. Steven Gold, MD

Dr. Gold was great. He looked at all possible reasons for my vestibular issue and came up with the cause. He didn't rush and spent time answering all of my questions. I would certainly see him again if any vestibular issues occur.

Dr. Gold is straight forward & to the point I appreciate that! He was able to give me options which was nice! I look forward to finally getting my hearing health back... thank you Dr Gold!

I honestly have zero idea how he has any negative reviews. He was my surgeon for a stapedectomy and from pre op to post op has been nothing short of professional, patient, and informative. I've had severe hearing loss for the last 5 years, and can now hear very clearly out of my left ear! I will be returning to him when I am ready for the stapedectomy of my right ear because of how great he is!

I went to CEENTA for hearing lost. I have nerve damage in one ear. A past ENT had sent a MRI to CEENTA so that I might get help there. I saw a Dr. Gold (specialist in inner ear and a surgeon). He did not examine me nor ever acknowledge he had received a MRI but rather sent me to the audiologist. I was fitted for a $6,400 pair of hearing aids which were no better than the ones I had been wearing for several years. After many "adjustments" I returned the new aids within the "try-out" period of time. My money was returned but missing a $350 fee for "professional services and use of the aids". I cannot in good faith recommend the "ear clinic" of this organization. I feel that I have been ripped off. Even the "lower-rated" hearing centers advertised on TV will allow a REAL "try-out" and if it doesn't work there is NO-CHARGE! Now, I am at a loss as to where to go next. Maybe Duke Medical will care - CEENTA cares only about the money. Avoid the ear clinic at CEENTA at all co$t. Very… dissatisfied, former customer.

Find someone who cares about their job. This guy doesn't, and it shows in his sloppy work.

Went to Dr. Gold because my ear felt like there was water in it or that it needs to be "popped" all the time. I recently had an ear infection/ruptured ear drum and my ear was not back to normal after 3 months. I was afraid my ear drum had not healed properly. Dr. Gold checked it and said it was fine. He had me take a hearing test which showed that my hearing was OK. Dr. Gold offered no opinion as to what could be causing my issue. He said if I had allergies then I could take allergy meds that might help. (I don't have allergies) I asked if it might get better over time. He shrugged. I asked if there was anything I could do about it. He said if my hearing gets worse come back in a year for another hearing test. Basically because I wasn't in pain and I didn't have a significant hearing loss, he saw no problem that needed to be dealt with. Needless to say, if your ear constantly feels like there is water in it or weird pressure, it is uncomfortable and does indicate some sort of issue.… After doing some research on my own, I discovered that using a CPAP could cause the issues I have. On the short 1 page medical history form I filled out, I only checked 2 boxes. One for ear problems and one for sleep apnea. I also informed the nurse that I used a CPAP. Either Dr. Gold is incompetent because he didn't know this or he never bothered to look at my medical history or he just flat out didn't care. Sad that I have to solve my medical issue myself by doing internet research. Not to mention the cost associated with the hearing test and Dr. visit. (I have a high deductible so this is all coming out of my pocket). I will say that everyone else in the office I dealt with was fine, just not Dr. Gold. He seemed rushed and didn't really want to take time to help me.

Dr. Gold is the BEST. He performed a revision stapedectomy on me. Another MD had placed a stapes that was too long and embedded in the inner ear. I was in bad shape as far as balance problems. Dr. Gold in my opinion is the Best Md for ear conditions. He has a great bedside manner and he CARES. Thank you Dr. Gold for giving me my life back. Catherine Watts, Pageland, Sc

He was completely unprofessional. He called me a liar even though I have a TBI and said there was no way I was experience the symptoms I am experiencing. Read all the other rating sites and you will see the same story repeatedly. Horrible "doctor" and an uncaring, rude person.

Dr. Gold was great.

Quite rude and has little to no interest in listening to the patient. Very disappointed with this doctor.
