Choose to see a different specialist if you can. Rude, very rude!!! He was arrogant and slightly hostile at times. He will interrupt you mid-sentence, not listen to you, and shame you when you ask questions. Do NOT trust the reviews on the practice's own website. They clearly have an incentive to only show you the positive reviews on their website.

Poor, awful, not good. I believe he took out more than the 2 feet (he said). I'm still having terrible diarrhea as before the surgery (recommended by a Gastroenterologist). A video should be required of every for the patient and doctors to see.

I was referred to him by a gastroenterologist who was treating me for constipation when I had diarrhea. He said I had 'Extensive" diverticulosis and the operation would fix the problem. Dr. Gross took out 2 feet of my colon. It didn't fix the problem (2 years ago) and I'm still suffering from it. After the operation, he said to take a fiber supplement every day. I had googled about fiber and found that there are 2 kinds - soluble and insoluble. I said "which kind, soluble or insoluble?" He looked at me like a deer in the headlights and said, "Do you trust me?" which confused me. After I didn't say anything, he said again, "Do you trust me?" Not knowing what to say, I said yes. A couple or three days later a nurse was carefully removing the tape when he came in, took over practically jerking the tape off and said to her, "Don't take 30 minutes to remove the tape" He doesn't respect nurses either. He is struck on himself because he knows how to do laparoscopy. I don't recommend him.

Rude, arrogant, condescending Doctor. Botched scheduling, indifferent employees. Good luck. I am going to Wake or Duke.

Dr Gross is by far the most unconcern unkind Dr. I have ever been to. I would not recommend him to anybody. He has no bedside manner. I had surgery for rectal cancer. After that I don,t know how many more surgeries he perform on me, but I have, had nothing but trouble after that. I had fell and broke my tail bone. I went to my primary care Dr. and to and Orthopedic they both had X-rays done that showed I did have a fracture tailbone. Dr Gross didn't believe me and made the statement that I was just using that to get out of another surgery. He never did an X-ray or talked to my other doctors, so he had no way to know that it was true. While I was still under his care I was Admitted through the ER for small bowel obstruction three times and I never once seen him. I am going to Baptist in Winston-Salem,NC And I am Proud to say I am doing much better

I chose Dr. Steven Gross for my hernia surgery. I could not anticipated what a fantastic surgeon he is. He explained in detail, prior to my surgery, what he was going to do and how it would be done. He answered all my questions and I felt very much at ease with what he told me. My surgery and recovery went great. He has a great personality and sense of humor and I would recommend Dr. Gross to anyone. I give him a 5+ stars rating. Thanks for allowing me to express my appreciation to Dr. Gross- Woodrow Jeanes

We found Dr. Steven Gross to be knowledgable, and very well at explaining the surgery we were there to have. He was humorus and attentive and his manner made his patient very comfortable. Again after the surgery he explained what took place and gave instructions for after care. I give him 5 stars and would trust him again and again.

That fairly well describes my experience with this person. As a surgeon he may be rated good, but his personality reeks of a god-complex!

He was my husband's emergency surgeon. In the ER he was rude and arrogant-- especially to me-- even though I could tell he was trying to do the BEST for my husband-- which was all that counted. We were dealing with a strangulated hernia/incarcerated bowel-- and it was serious. After the surgery was over, he came out to explain exactly what he found and did-- and at that moment I knew my husband had a great surgeon working on him. Made it easier for me to forgive his attitude in the ER. This (emergency) surgery took place late at night and didn't finish until around 2:00a.m-- so it was pretty amazing that he could still be so nice at that time. The follow-up appointment-- my husband said went very well- and my husband would want Dr. Gross, again, if he ever needed surgery. Don't let a first impression bother you-- in this situation, you want a really good surgeon-- not a BFF. But I will say-- the follow -up appointment kept us waiting more than TWO hours after our appointment time! So… my other stars are based on office staff.

Appeared to know what he was talking about and I guess that's the most important thing but this guy has ZERO bedside manner. With the many options for doctors in Greensboro, why select someone who comes off as if they are doing you a favor
