Extremely upsetting when you call to make an appt and they refuse unless you have a referral from your PCP. I pay extra for the insurance I have so that I do not have to spend money seeing my PCP to get a referral. It is also very frustrating when you ask your PCP for the referral and they say they have sent it only Dr Hopson's office conveniently can not find it, but still will not make an appt before you can get one to their office. So to see him I have had to take the day off to see my PCP. Call Dr. Hopson's office to make an appt only to be told no referral no appt. So then call my PCP who states they sent it. So now if I want to see him I have to take the day off to get the referral and take it to their office so I can make an appt to take another day off for the appt. This OFFICE policy sucks!!!!

I had a total ankle replacement performed by Dr. Vargo. After months of treatment for "supposed infection", it was discovered by another surgeon that Dr. Vargo had cut the artery and damaged the tendons etc. resulting in constant tripping, falling and tremendous pain. I was determined to find a Dr. who could repair the damage and went to see most of the surgeons in Hampton rds. including Duke University and HSS in NYC. They all wanted to re-fuse my ankle because the damage done by Dr. Vargo was too extensive (I have all the documentation to prove this). Dr. Hopson was the ONLY one that offered me hope. He took on my difficult case and repaired all the damage. I am now walking, biking, dancing, and finally enjoying my life free of pain!! I also lost over 100lbs.. He is simply the absolute best in his profession and I as one of his most challenging patients am the proof that there is No One Better!
