Dr. Steven Noah Kanfer, MD

I have been seeing Dr Kanfer for over a year and a half now and I couldn’t be happier with him. I have seen multiple people in Tampa before him and I truly feel that he cares about me as a patient and what is best for me. He returns calls quickly and I never have a problem getting an appointment. He is very respectful and responsive to my needs. He listens to how I feel about medications and gives me honest feedback about what he feels is best. Contrary to other reviews, he really does care about his patients and I couldn’t be happier. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Tampa.

I went to Dr. Kanfer for two years, and my progress was nil. I did everything he suggested. However, my end point with him was when I explained something in full detail that was happening in my life, and he replied with, "So what's been going on lately?" A true indication that he doesn't want to listen to you. He then prescribed another drug. What is that? I walked out and never returned. Sure, he'll give you drugs, but are they the correct ones if he's not listening to your needs?

This psychiatrist had me on medication that caused me stiffness for months. Then he was angry that the X Ray center said I have to get off the medication. A year later, put me on medication that caused stiffness again and when I complained, he increased it.

Enough said: condescending, thinks he is better than you. Annoying tone and stature.

He is on time and always answers calls quickly. He is not that easy to talk to. He gives off a judgmental and and disapproving tone. He is overly cautious with prescribing meds and is not open to patients input regarding medications. He is nice but when I leave his office I feel that I have to,apologize for needing medication

Doesn't believe that the patient has some insight into proper treatment. Too cautious and not willing to be creative in treatment.

Great doctor. Doesn't care about your money, but more about your safety and overall health.
