Dr. Steven Michael Kelly, MD

Zero personality. My newborn was severly tongue tied. My baby couldn't even lift his tongue or effectively nurse. Before Dr. Kelly even examined my baby, he told us it wasn't a problem. He spent maybe 5 minutes with us. Reluctantly clipped baby's tongue. Got the bill for $1000...should have gone to my pediatric dentist.

Dr. Kelly tried to repair my daughter's eardrum, a hole of which did not close after having tubes placed. After a recovery period post-op, were told that the patch "didn't take." Dr. Kelly went in a second time. No luck. By the time Dr. Park took over, my daughter had lost 99% of her eardrum. Dr. Park did a wonderful job reconstructing an eardrum, but she was left with a 55% hearing loss in her right ear. To this day, I feel if we would have had Dr. Park in the first place, my daughter would have had a better outcome. I could be wrong, but I remain convinced that Dr. Kelly's procedures were flawed.

Do not EVER send your child here if you need hearing aids. I am one of three moms who's life has been changed just because of mistakes made by him and his office staff. Not to mention one of the little girls who got tubes through him..... He botched it. Put the tube in the wrong spot therefore making it impossible for the whole in her ear drum to ever heal. Now she is wearing a hearing aid as a result. They mis diagnosed my newborn 5 years ago and told me he "barely passed" his OAE hearing screening. Which was not accurate. 3 years later I find out he does have a hearing loss. That was there at birth. My 8 year old AND a friend of mine who's son is 5 received hearing aids through them in 2012 which are NOT hearing aids meant to be used for children. They also don't meet the targets that they both needed for their hearing loss. 3 moms, 4 kids......life impacted by way to many mistakes. I'm DONE hearing about all of it from yet another family and needed to leave a review. You've been… warned.

He has done 4 surgeries for my family. Tubes, Adenoid Removal, Tonsillectomy, one of which was in hopes of getting rid of psoriasis. All surgeries were fantastic and helped immensely. He is not the most out-going person, but he is extremely intelligent. He listened to all of our concerns and facilitated us in our requests.

I have taken my children to see Dr Kelly for 17 yrs now. He put 5 sets of tubes in my special needs son. He was the first Dr to suggest seeing a Genetic Dr which then got my son his diagnosis. He took out his tonsils, adenoids and repaired a cleft soft palate. He took great care of by son in the ICU and also put tubes in my daughter and took her tonsils. He is very intelligent in what he does. My child had difficult anatomy but Dr Kelly always was well prepared and would request his best anesthiolgist to assist at my request.

I have been to him for two of my children. The first child he treated ok. He had attached tongue affecting speech. Surgery good, improvement good. The next son had tubes put in (totally unnecessary and ineffective)but he wouldn't do adnoids so a yr later his partner took them out. We wasted a yr of treatment because when I'd return he wouldn't see the problem continuing. Also extremely wishy washy, "it maybe..." He needs to learn to diagnose something and feel comfortable with your own diagnosis. He sounds as if he is guessing a lot of the time.

Dr. Kelly performed tonsillectomy/ adnoidectomy on both of my daughters. He is professional, quick, comes out after surgery to let me know that all went well. I marked him as a good on bedside manner only because one could get the sense that he seems aloof but i really feel its just his personality. I do think he is a caring individual just not great at showing it. He is a great doctor though! If you need a referral to a good ear nose throat doc, go see Dr. Kelly. Thank you Dr. Kelly!
