Dr. Steven Jay Klein, MD

I'm not sure why these ratings are so low. Dr. Klein and his staff are wonderful. He was a Godsend for me. It took at least 37 years for me to get a diagnosis! I admit that I almost cried when I finally got one. He is thorough, caring, and thoughtful. I was so used to getting 30 seconds of a doctor's time that it was a shock to have him take the time to listen to and examine me. Any problems I have had, logistically, have been due to my insurance company dragging their feet and, of course, the delays due to COVID. He is also a "team player" which is a huge sign to me that he is a smart doctor. He makes referrals and gets other doctor's opinions instead of taking his opinion as something from on high. That is the mark of an intelligent person! His office staff are caring and personable - especially those wonderful ladies in the Infusion Room! They always get me in and do their best to get through my insurance nightmare. My only concern is that he will retire and I will have to go back… to terrible healthcare. Oh please no. But, Dr. Klein thought of that too. So, he referred me to a doc at Johns Hopkins who I see twice per year. That way if Dr. Klein retires or I move my diagnosis will "stand" and I will continue to get care. God bless him.

This Doctor did nothing for me but lecture about his problems. The office staff was unhelpful, rude and should not be working in a doctors office,

I've been a patient with Dr. Klein for 25 years. He has and is treating me for both Lupus and Psoriatic arthritis. Dr. Klein is extremely intelligent and diligent. My conditions have been very complex and difficult to diagnose.Dr. Klein has never made me feel like we were not going to let my symptoms go undiagnosed or untreated. He is a wonderful diagnostician and should he need another opinion he doesn't hesitate to send me to a higher level of care. His office staff and other providers are amazing. They work together to provide exceptional care. They are all very empathetic and caring. I cannot say enough about Dr. Klein and his practice!

I am writing a review only because I can’t believe what I am seeing. Dr. Klein is an excellent physician who keeps up so well on new ideas for those with very painful disabilities. I go out of my network, out of state and pay a higher copay just to see him. If he can’t help with an issue he will immediately make a referral. His office staff is top notch as well. He spends whatever time I need and is nearly always on schedule. The office is run more efficiently than any other I’ve seen. As a healthcare professional who works in a community & hospital setting, I’ve had first hand experience with hundreds of physicians. I would rate Dr. Klein and his staff in the top 10 percent overall and even higher of his knowledge of autoimmune disorders and the issues that go along with them. I’ve dealt with the staff for a couple of decades and I have never seen anything unprofessional from any one of them. I was “scolded” one time for not getting my bloodwork on time, which shows me how much he… cares about my treatment and compliance.

Office staff have attitudes. Dr Kline is great though

After 3 or 4 appts. They said there is really nothing they could do for me, but we'll see you in three or four months. After being told that three times, I stopped going. They obviously just want my insurance money. I owed a small amount, couldn't pay it and it was put on my credit and I got a letter saying they couldn't see me anymore. The doctor was condescending, rude and didn't seem to believe anything I said. Thanks a lot

Not everyone symptoms are "Textbook" diagnosis.
