Dr. Steven Charles Kurtin, OD

I wish I could give Dr. Kurtin more than 5 stars. He is by far, the best doctor I have ever seen out of any speciality. He is calm and composed and does not rush patient visits. He explains everything in a manner anyone can understand and he answers all patient questions. He greatly impacted my keratoconus and my condition did not worsen while he treated me. I unfortunately moved out of state so I won’t be seeing him again, but I am so thankful for the years of excellent service he provided.

My vision at Kurtin Vision has never been better with scleral contact lenses after my cornea transplant. They took my insurance, clearly explained how it all worked. Dr Kurtin was super compassionate. I had follow up today and all went smooth. Great place!

He over charged me $915 and I am following up for last 2 years, either he does not respond or just give false assurances. I do not find this an ethical business practice. Beware!

I had keratoconus in both eyes up until 2013 when I received a cornea transplant on one. Needless to say, my vision has been a struggle for me my entire life. I moved to Dallas 10 years ago and started researching eye doctors that dealt with my condition. Dr Kurtin was one of a very few in the entire DFW area that had experience. It has been a great experience working with him and his staff. They really do care and show it in their efforts. My vision is better now (45) than it was when I was a child. If you have any sort of eye conditions, please visit Dr Kurtin.

I went yesterday to see Dr Kurtin having chosen him due to his office being in close proximity to my home and due to reading all of his reviews. I had not been to see an eye doctor in 20 plus years, I’m 60, but did go to America’s Best about 10 years ago only to be herded in and out after the eye exam there and I was given the hard up-sell after the exam. Dr Kurtin and staff were incredibly professional and thorough in every facet! His two female office staffers were very caring and sincere and did an outstanding job from start to finish.I was booked the same day I called due to a cancellation. Dr Kurtin was more thorough and caring than any eye doctor I had ever been to and he took the time to explain every facet of his exam procedures as he did them. I felt totally comfortable and he showed a sincere genuine caring interest in me being his patient. He pointed out some serious issues that I need to be aware of in the very near future and I was impressed by his findings. Afterwards… I was shown all types of choices of glasses to choose from and chose a pair based on my choice. The staff explained that I was getting progressive lenses which had 3 different vision adjustments in them which amazed me. I go back soon to pick them up and I will definitely be a regular patient from now on due to the professional and thorough care I received at Dr Kurtin’s office!

I have limited options in choosing an eye doctor because I have a condition called Keratoconus. Finding Dr. Kurtin was a blessing for sure. I tried one other office in the Dallas area and they tried to push a certain procedure on me even before examining me. Another office was significantly more expensive just for the exam (none of these places, including Dr. Kurtin, work with my insurance). Dr. Kurtin is so down to earth and easy to communicate with. He is thorough and provided excellent care and service. Even though I had to pay out of pocket and turn in my own insurance forms, I am thrilled to have received the care I got with Dr. Kurtin. I went from being unable to wear my RGP lenses because of discomfort to wearing hybrid lenses all day long. I am so glad I found Dr. Kurtin!

When I called, I knew this was the place for my eye exam. The person answering phone was sooooo courteous and friendly and helpful. The exam fees were what I expected for a specialist. I just wanted better vision, and needed someone to get me strait. No more cheap down the road places for me. Thanks guys!

Drove in from Houston area needing vision specialist after my cornea was messed up with surgery. Great to come to doctor who gets in, knows what he's doing, gives options and gets me seeing again, within about a week. Dr Kurtin is the seventh doctor I've been to, and hope he is my last. Highly recommend the drive to anyone with complication from cornea surgery.

Usually doctors are way too quiet and have a crappy personality. This doctor is one cool dude. Right on with my vision, paid extra for Hi Def lenses- compared with old, and hes right.. they do see better with the same prescription. Stop wasting time, go here and get great experience...
