Dr. Steven D Levin, MD

As a 68-year-old, I visited Dr. Levin after 3 very hard falls on my right shoulder (from 2 sports-related; one due to black ice), causing major pain and stiffness. He calmly explained that I had a full tendon tear and 1 inch displacement from the bone, but assured me that it would may be possible that I could be back to normal after surgery and physical therapy. He explained the process, using metal cables and pins, and explained that he may have to use donor tissue to help the replacement tendon grow back. The actual surgery was less than an hour, and I was able to see internal photos of the process. Afterward, I had no major pain, until I began PT and began ?pushing? myself. PT (at Athletico) took five months for total recovery, and was easier as time passed. Now, 10 months after surgery, I consider myself 100% recovered, with zero pain (except very minor ?reminder? pain when I really over-extend it). Dr. Levin exceeded ALL of my hopes and expectations, & I recommend him! In… addition, his office staff, Zoe & Jenna, and his surgical staff have great personalities and are very professional and helpful!

Dr Levin saw that I had a very minor meniscus tear, so insignificant that he wouldn’t even consider scoping it. A previous visit to Dr John Pinnello at Castle orthopedics said I needed to scope the knee. Pinnello never manipulated my knee or asked questions to verify where the pain was coming from. Dr Levin did that manipulation and asked questions and saw on my MRI I have Pes Anserine tendonitis! I’m a runner and the pain was NOT in the meniscus area- Dr Levin took the time to talk with me and dig deeper into my issue! He didn’t rush to say I needed surgery- He said therapy, ultrasound and cortisone shot would work. Great doctor that is patient to listen and he explains what is going on. So glad to have seen Dr Levin

My name is Rares Gherghiceanu and I am a former Romanian rugby player. Recently Dr. Levin performed a ACL and a meniscus repair on my right knee , and I guess what motivated me to write this review, is to help others know how dedicated Dr. Levin is to the sport community, especially the rugby one. At the time of this review I'm five weeks after the surgery and everything is going well. Before surgery you've said " I'm going to take good care of you ". You sure did Doc, and for that I thank you.

Dr. Stephen D. Levin is associated with Endeavor Health. He is an amazing doctor! He preformed rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. From the 1st time I met him he and his staff were nothing but professional, caring and great at their jobs. Once we determined surgery was needed he and his staff took care of everything. We scheduled the surgery, his staff set up the home delivery of anything I needed for post op healing. The surgery was able to be scheduled with limited wait time. I had the surgery on a Tuesday and Dr. Levin saw me on that Thursday. It put me at such ease once we talked about what I was feeling and what to expect in the coming days. I then saw him 10 days later. After the exam and his explanation he made sure to answer any questions I had. After a month he had me start P.T. 6 months later I am back to 100% and able to get back on the golf course. Dr. Levin and his staff work really well together. They all made me feel at ease and well taken care of. Anytime I… messaged the doctor or office I got a response really quickly. I received a call to see how I was doing after surgery. I would recommend Dr. Levin and his staff to my family and friends. If you are looking for a good orthopedic doctor Dr. Stephen Levin is your guy!

Dr. Levin is a wonderful MD and Surgeon. He explains things very well so that you can understand. I highly recommend him to anyone.

My husband suffered a "massive" rotator cuff tear. Dr. Levin explained the options for repair. He was very clear that due to the severity of the injury, surgery to repair the rotator cuff tear had a small chance of success. After several months of physical therapy, my husband still had restricted range of motion and pain with everyday activities. We returned to Dr. Levin to discuss options. Dr. Levin recommended a reverse shoulder replacement. He clearly explained the procedure and answered all our questions. The result of the shoulder replacement is fantastic. The pain and range of motion are both greatly improved and will continue to get better. My husband is so very pleased with the result. We are grateful for Dr. Levin's skill and knowledge.

Dr. Levin was very engaging with the entire visit and process with my son's knee surgery. He didn't rush any office visits; he listened to our concerns and questions and really explained what was wrong and how he would correct the ACL tear with surgery. The outcome was perfect and his follow up visits and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. My son understood what was expected of him for rehab and he is now back to playing ball with no pain. I would definitely recommend Dr. Levin to anyone who needs an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr Levin is an incredible surgeon, and I am thankful that I saw him for my ACL Revision. Five years prior, I saw a different surgeon and I had an allograft ACL surgery and a repaired torn miniscus - and it was a slow recovery that never really happened. I was on crutches for 10 weeks, had to have a second surgery to remove scar tissue and even though I had a year of PT - still never felt stable. My friend recommended Dr Levin - he instantly ordered an MRI and discovered that the ACL was not connected, the holes were out of place, and unfortunately the surgery needed to happen again, but fortunately Dr Levin did an outstanding job - he separated the surgery into two sessions - one to repair the holes and clean out the old ACL - second surgery to utilize an autograph. I was off crutches in one day - two weeks later could put all my weight on the replaced ACL and am way ahead of schedule on a speedy recovery. When you pick a surgeon, pick the right one - Dr Levin is the right one
