Dr. Steven Craig Ludwig, MD

He has done two back surgeries on my husband Scott. He is amazing, caring, very compassionate and bed side manner is amazing. He came several times himself not his PA to check on my husband both surgeries at Shock trauma to make sure he was doing good. Also, he did my brother in law and cousin back surgery. I would give him a 100 if I could!

I suffered from severe lower back pain for over 5 years after 2 different orthopedic doctors evaluated my imaging and told me that there was nothing that could be done to fix my spine. "Pain Management" was their only solution to my life-crushing lower back issues, leaving me to watch my life deteriorate. Finally I couldn't take the pain anymore and looked deeper into available resources. Found Dr. Ludwig, who inspected my imaging and said that he could help. Here I am 4 months after his surgery - pain free and on my feet again. Dr. Ludwig gave me back my life.

Shots after shots. Therapy after Therapy no help. I did research and found Dr Ludwig who was a Godsend treated for back pain for years when all pain was created by neck issues. He looked at my MRI told me it was a neck issue and performed an infusion and 4 months later living pain free.

One year after my spinal fusion, i rarely take Motrin and never need pain killers. It is amazing after 20 years of pain! If you need spinal surgery, do not see anyone else, he is the best!

Excellent surgeon. Excellent bedside manner. Extremely personable great customer service from him and from his staff.

I am happy that he knew exactly what was bothering me but beside manners aren't Great. I felt pushed along when still having issues and pain. I've been asking for medicine since my post op & still nothing. I'm having more pain in my neck and it's swollen. No one seems to Care! I don't know what else to do.... a upset in Pain client/patient

The Doc is totally fabulous! After seeing 8 other doctors he totally figured out what was wrong with me and made me right. He performed c-spine surgery on me and I have felt so good since the surgery. He Rocks! xoxo

First appt. 15 yrs ago w/Dr. Ludwig took me aback ... he reminded me of a Doogie Houser, MD!! Dr. Ludwig is Top Notch ... from his gentle, caring nature, his vast knowledge of the physical body, its kinetic movement & the importance of surgical intervention when absolutely necessary! Dr. Ludwig has been my hero all these years .. enough so that I sent my father to him for (successful!) neck surgery! I'm in need of his help once again, & will be calling Kernan for an appt. today!!

I am an ICU nurse and went to Dr. Ludwig after a devastating L5/S1 herniation that left me in excruciating pain and unable to work. My first surgery, while effective, led me to continued deterioration of the the vertebrae (this is my body's issue NOT reflective of the surgeon). I am about to have a fusion due to continued pain (different from original) with Dr. Ludwig and would NEVER consider going to another surgeon. He is courteous, informative, prompt, and above all COMPASSIONATE. I have been and will continue to be grateful to him and his incredible staff for their care of me. I am looking forward to a successful surgery, a thorough recovery (that I will control with my diligence and temperance by listening to the therapist and Dr. Ludwig), and getting back to caring for patients...rather than being the patient.

Dr. Ludwig is a true professional who makes connections with patients and their family. He explains things in layman's terms and puts patients and their family at ease. Would highly recommend him to anyone suffering from spinal injuries.
