I had Trabeculectomy surgery for an open-angle glaucoma. He said the cut will open a drain to relieve my optic nerves of ocular pressure that causes the glaucoma, no more instilling drops after surgery. I am not diabetic. He refused my request to change my expensive prescription after surgery that has a warning that continued use causes glaucoma. Continued use requires more often regular monitoring of ocular pressure. I had to request visits more often than he prescribed. The drain in my eye is barely open it is not working. I am using 2 different eyedrops to prevent ocular pressure. That was after he removed two stitches in separate visits and massaged my eye on another visit by pressing on it at one place, for some minutes. My eye is tearing. My eyelid did not open as wide as my better eye. His nurse said it will go back to its original way two months after surgery. I am on my 10 months. I left this doctor after 3 months. When asked, he said he would do the same surgery to… his Mother. I agreed to the surgery. My eye is not draining to prevent ocular pressure, always wet and tearing, using eyedrops still, and lid not fully open. Plus, waits are half to more than an hour.

I have been a patient of Steven Mansberger for several years. I have complete faith in his professional abilities. He is always very friendly when I go in for my check ups for glaucoma . The only complaint I have with Devers is the long waits. This is not Dr. Mansberger's fault.

I have to laugh when I read a previous review where the patient said, "he seems to think he is the expert"....He IS the expert...!!....I have always had a good rapport with him. He has done glaucoma surgery on my eye and has me come in for regular check ups. The only complaint I have is not related to Dr. Mansberger...it is the long wait at the clinic. Perhaps they schedule too many people in a day.

I saw Dr. Mansberger for a 2nd opinion after my new eye doctor found early macular degeneration. My father has macular degeneration, so it was something I wanted to be checked for. Dr. Mansberger dismissed my concerns and said my eyes were normal and didn't have macular degeneration but that he wanted to see me for a follow up. I told my regular eye doctor who showed me the pictures of the inside of my eye and all the drewsin covering my macula, and he wasn't sure how anybody would say I didn't have macular degeneration. I will never trust my eyes to Dr. Mansberger again.

Dr. Mansberger has little patience answering questions. Intimidating attitude. Seems to believe since he's the expert, the patient should simply trust his judgment. Very uncomfortable and tense environment. Feel rushed.
