Dr. Steven Maynard, MD

Dr Maynard is an extraordinary doctor; extremely knowledgeable, thorough, caring and attentive! When I start to worry about complications I know that if he is there I am in good hands and feel safe and that everything will be all right no matter what happens. He has helped my husband and I through two miscarriages and now a stillbirth where I was induced and had to deliver early. He was very compassionate and understanding that I wanted to have as much of a live and natural birth as possible. He worked really hard to make sure I had all the right information and that things went as smooth and quick as possible because he knew I was worried too about getting back home to my 4 yr old. Finding out our baby had a condition it couldn’t survive from, giving birth early and holding him when he was so small was the saddest and hardest experience in our lives but Dr Maynard was very gentle, patient, and present with us giving us time to baptize him and spend as much time as we could with him.… He made sure I wouldn’t have any troubles after delivery and come back to check on us twice at the hospital and called me from the office the following day to talk about how I was doing, instead of just returning my message on the portal which really helped so much! Throughout the pregnancy whenever there was an urgent need he made the time for me to come in as quickly as possible and always returned messages right away. He is the first male doctor I’ve had as an adult; I always felt too shy and uncomfortable before but I am truly thankful I found him and can’t imagine ever having anyone else. I pray he will continue to be here throughout the rest of my childbearing and menopause years!

Dr. Maynard is very attentive and a great listener. As a woman I always wait for that first physically exam to see if the doctor is professional and is just doing his or her job and "nothing extra or that causes me to feel uncomfortable! He's a great doctor and I'm extremely comfortable with him when on visits are hard for me to go to. Totally non judgemental. He's an excellent surgeon as well. He did one of my cesareans and will deliver my second in a week here. I highly recommend him.

First appointment was fantastic. I returned 1 year later and he was a different person. Second appointment (1 year later): He was about 1 hour late to my appointment. Rather than going over my medical history, he asked me to recall off the top of my head every procedure, diagnosis, and BC method I've used and when, and he was very aggressive about the fact that I could not recall all of it. He made me feel uncomfortable. I told him that I did not want to continue the appointment. When he wrote my records, he wrote incorrect information.

I have seen him over the past 3 years and have always found him to be caring and compassionate. He listens to me and offers suggestions. I like him alot and strongly recommend him.

Rude and not aware of latest treatments.

I took a day off of work to get some urgent lab work done for an ongoing medical issue. Dr. Maynard was able to see me on short notice. While waiting, I heard him arguing with the patient who he was seeing ahead of me. Then he was rude to me as well. When I returned to the practice later to see another doctor, I asked about my test results. He hadn't submitted them to the lab. What a waste of time! Perhaps he is available on short notice because he's not particularly helpful. See someone else!!

Dr. Maynard has been consistently professional and compassionate. He saw me through a really difficult time and was reliable and reassuring.
