Great Physician?

Dr. Pugh and his nurse are good, but the front desk staff is rude both on the phone and in person. Out of 25-30 phone calls I've made over the past 3 years, I have only had the phone answered directly one time. The answering machine message informs you (rather rudely) not to leave more than one message, but the only time I had the phone answered directly was when I called back after they hadn't returned the message I left 3 days earlier. It usually takes them at least 24 hours to return a phone call, even if I call in the morning. There have been times when it is not an emergency and I don't want/need to go to the ER, but I'd like to at least talk to someone that day.

He is very understanding. My mom sees him and she has a brain injury and on set dementia. Jennifer O

Doesn't care about patient's pain level, refuses all pain management for chronic pain, pushes for dangerous expensive brain surgery or suffering with the life crippling pain instead. It's no wonder that people with chronic pain are turning to street drugs for pain relief because we can't get it from our doctors at all anymore! So much for their oath to Do No Harm!

I recently had a nerve conduction study with Dr. Pugh. As he tested, I told him about my fiasco with two neurosurgeons who misdiagnosed my herniated disk and how I suffered for over a year and a half before a third neurosurgeon accurately diagnosed a basic run-of-the-mill herniation. It wasn't rocket science and yet I had to suffer with terrible nerve pain down both arms as well as having moderate central stenosis on my spinal cord. He listened and was very compassionate. He is a man who truly cares and that is 9/10ths of finding help. Many have intelligence, not many care.

Dr. Pugh has been the only doctor whom has been able to give me relief with my chronic migraine disorder. I have suffered my whole life and it is wonderful not to suffer from a 5 day migraine. I appreciate how fast they get me in with no lobby waiting time. The staff is so nice and respectful of my time. Sincere thanks!

After being to several doctors in the past, Dr. Pugh as become my and my husband's neuro. He is wonderful, he care is excellent and on top of all of this, his "bedside manner" could not be better. You would be lucky to have Dr. Pugh as you doctor!

Dr. Pugh has just piled out of the clown car with his red nosed buddies. I asked him repeatedly to send my Neurological records to Harbor View medical. He did not send some of the records. The important ones. The ones that mentioned Lyme disease. He has delayed and hindered my treatment for months now. He won't answer simple questions like have you ever seen a brain scan of someone with a positive Lyme Test? Save yourself time and money, and go see a circus.

Not overly knowledgeable. I did a lot of self-diagnosis, and basically told him what medicine(s) to put me on.Twice now he has left the office where I was seeing him with no explanation, and was just told to see PA Teri Tupper, who rushes through the appointment like she is in a huge hurry and doesn't have time for you.
