Excellent surgeon and staff, will 100% recommend!

I saw Dr. Richardson last week. Everyone was great from the front desk to the nurses and Doctor. Easiest surgery I've ever had, and I have had many Mohs.

Mohs Surgery: Make sure to get ask about the following. What are all charges including visits prior to Mohs procedure. Ask if he is willing to get your input on how you want the Moh's excision closed. Ask if he is going to do conservative margins (the point of Mohs) or if he intends to attempt to get it all the first layer so that more patients can be scheduled for the more expensive less time consuming first layer. Also, only buy the products he sells if you think it is necessary. Trust your gut on your thoughts about him after the first appointment.

I had a skin cancer on my back, he removed it with no problems and hasn't troubled me in 2 years

Dr. Richardson explained to me on several occasions even drawing a picture of the procedure and explained that the removal of basal cell from my right eyelid would be in stages ; he would remove a small amount, then do a frozen section and possibly another until good margins were determined. After removal, I would then be sent to a plastic surgeon for closure. The day of surgery, Dr. Richardson removed two thirds of my lower eyelid on the first cut. He, then bandaged my eye with out explanation on why he did not follow his previously explained protocol and sent me to the plastic surgeon for closure. However, due to the extensive removal of my eyelid, the plastic surgeon was unable to close wound. He had to do a flap sewing my upper eyelid to my lower lid. My vision was seriously impaired for 30 days. It has been 6 weeks and I am still recovering.

I have to say my experience at Mira Vista dermatology was exceptional. Dr Richardson took the time to explain everything and listened to all of my concerns. It’s very rare to get this kind of attention from a doctor. Not only that, the following week he personally called me for a follow up, ensuring I was ok with my procedure. Would highly recommend.

Worst doctor I've ever seen.

Very disorganized staff. Dr took it upon himself to write in notes that he would do the skin graft although I preferred a plastic surgeon due to the area affected. Because of his miscommunication in his notes, my surgery was delayed by 5 weeks and cost me 2 months of income. Day of surgery I made my 3 month check up...when I arrived for check up, he wasn't there and his staff "forgot" to call and reschedule visit. Unprofesssional in every aspect.

In order to make a beauty cut after removal a squamous cell growth, he cut an artery in the upper scull which sprayed the area with blood. I believe he should understand the positions of the artery passage and concentrate on more simpler surgery's!
