Dr. Steven Allen Sanders, MD

Dr. Sanders (and I use the term doctor very loosely), performed lower back surgery on me in 2008. I thought my pain couldn’t be any worse until after the surgery, I was wrong. I went back to a follow up visit two years later to find out what happened. I was told by him “ not all surgeries go as expected“. Yea, no kidding. Especially when he’s holding the knife!

Dr. Sanders treated both my wife with surgery, and me, later, when he diagnosed my RA, he referred me to a rhumatologist, when my GP scratched his head.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! He will not help you, and he will leave you in a very dangerous state of health. I have had to go to another neurosurgeon (which I am now getting the care I need). My new doctor is disgusted at the shape I'm in and trying his best to correct what has been done to me. Dr. Sanders needs barred from being a doctor! Just run away from Dr. Sanders!

Sr. Sanders was my second opinion for back surgery. I thoroughly enjoyed him and his ability to answer all my questions

I was very impressed with the quality of care I received while going to this practice. I did see Dr. Stevens as well as his PA. I had attended KOC for months with no success and upon going to this practice, they immediately started working on resolving the problems I was having with my back. I have completed 3 surgeries and I am so glad that I used this practice , I would highly recommend them!!

I had an appointment with this Dr and he left the room when I was in the middle of a question. Well I waited what seemed like forever and the nurse came in and told me I was free to go. I told her what happened...that he left the room while I was asking him a question...and she said, "I hate it when he does that". I ended up at Vanderbilt and had surgery for Craniotomy Micro-vascular Decompression Genitulat Neuralgia.He WILL NOT ever have to worry about me or my family or anyone I can tell what kind of Dr. he is.If I could rate him any less...I would.

Waited about 2hrs. Front Desk very disorganized. He laughed at me and my diagnosis's focused on my neck which was not the real issue. Diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia which was on the forms I filled out and I said I have had it for years well I confirmed it. It's been confirmed and he was leaving I said what about my back he said you hurt every where I touch if I found one tiny spot that doesn't hurt there is nothing I can do for you and left nurse came in and said you are all done. I reported him and I will never see him again.

he works out of Knoxville and I live in Athens. he sees Athens patients 1-2 a week. I had a ruptured disk. it was bad. he saw me at 3pm in the Athens office and by 8pm the same day I was in surgery. 5 hrs. all went well and I was home the next afternoon. I came home with hydrocodone and was well medicated per iv before I left the hosp for the 2 hr drive home. don't know what happened to all of you but it was fast and great for me. follow ups were no more than 30 min wait. would use him again.

I had a 10:15 appt, they told me to be there at 9:45. I got there at 9:45 on the dot, with the paperwork already filled out. I didn't get called back until 11:20 am. I had 2 major back surgeries in 1992 and have a lot of hardware. I fell 3 weeks ago, and I can pin point where something isn't right and have experienced numbness in both arms: both ring and pinky fingers. I never asked for pain Rx, but when he dismissed me it gave me the slimy feeling like he must have thought that is what I was seeking. He confirmed I had a broken screw in my back, but he was unable to answer my question as to which side the broke screw was on. He explained that an xray is flat ...but he didnt feel it was important enough to get a CT scan. I will be looking else where, since he said he was sending me back to my physician with a "back pain"... well he is half right, it is a back pain, but its also a back pain that only feels better when I am hunched over and it hurts worse when I try and… straighten my back. I think this doctor is missing his duck bill. If you know-what-I-mean.

This is a joke. We have been sitting here for over 2 1/2 hours, just waiting for the doctor to come in and see us.
