Dr. Steven L Schaerer

I typically don't read online reviews about ANYTHING, much less write anything. Too much negativity, too many hidden agendas and just a lot of complaining. The reviews usually muddy the waters for me instead of giving me good insight into what I am researching. Everyone has different experiences and opinions and are entitled to them. There are two sides to every story. You can choose to believe me or not. Your call, but I felt some of the things written here went beyond being helpful, and border on libel. And no, I'm not a lawyer or a crony. I'm just a 56 year old male who goes to see the doc once a year. My personal experience with Dr Schaerer has been nothing but professional and thorough. I've been going to him for over 30 years. He treats me well and cares about my health. The ones who say he is rude and arrogant obviously do not know the man. I don't think the man is capable of that. I've never seen anything like that. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. It's… possible he may have missed some diagnoses over the years. He's a general practitioner so he may not be a cancer expert. We're all human. Or things may have progressed past a point where medical intervention will fix things. I have faith in the medical profession but I've also learned that there is no "magic bullet" or that they have an answer for everything. For the patients who had serious medical issues and had horrible outcomes - I empathize with you. Life can be tragic and painful. I don't mean to make light of your conditions. I just felt like my getting my personal experiences on the record.

Misdiagnosed me. Was rude and impatient. A real creep.

I've been seeing Dr. Schaefer for about 10 years, and I can't believe these negative reviews. He is kind, patient, and easy to talk to. He is proactive in asking questions and offering suggestions, such as immunizations. I won't say he's the greatest ever, but generally a very good doctor.

This is one bad doctor. My brother tried for months to get relieve from his swollen stomach, extreme fatigue and nausea for months. What he got from Dr. Schearer was scolding and chiding for being overweight. No help whatsoever. When my brother's bloated stomach was later diagnosed by an emergency room doctor as pancreatic cancer, he was Stage 4; and we barely had time to say good-bye before he was gone. Dr. Schearer robbed my brother of an early diagnosis that may have saved his life. Even if it would not have, it would have made his last few weeks much more comfortable.

The office is grungy and smells funny. Schaerer seems like a jerk. I feel sorry for his patients--I'm not obe!

Anything good that anyone has to say about this abomination to the medical profession has got to be a product of cronyism. My cancer went undiagnosed for months while I saw Schaerer. It wasn't until a friend of mine (an angel who saved my life) told me about Dr. Warren Ljundgren (someone who DESERVES the title of Dr.) that my cancer was diagnosed and treated. I know that I would have been taken to the undertaker had I continued to go to this horrible doctor. He needs to have his license taken away. How he can sleep at night knowing he has hurt so many is a mystery to me.

I've been seeing DR. Schaerer for years he's a very caring doctor he takes his time and listens to you.He's very good at diagnosis of conditions, he is good at giving referrals when necessary.I would not go anywhere else and I would refer anybody I know to him. When I had surgery it was caught in the pre-cancer stage because he was paying attention.

I have been going to this office since I was a kid. I'm now in my late 30's. My whole family also goes to this practice. Between the four of us, we all see either Dr. Schaerer or Dr. Thuney. They are wonderful Dr's. To the person who said they don't do referrals, you're crazy. I've been referred to two different Dr's. My father to at least 3+ due to his back issues. Both doctors have a great bedside manner and are very caring. Just a reminder, doctors are humans. They have crappy days just like we do.

The rudest, most unkind doctor I have ever had the misfortune to see. Maybe he's burned out or maybe he never should have gone into medicine in the first place. He seems bored and irritated by his patients. I would recommend finding someone (almost anyone!) besides him.
