Dr. Steven Mark Shrum, MD

During my daughters 1 year well child visit he told me that no child should be breastfeeding by 2, that there were "social implications" to extended breastfeeding, and that breast milk has 20 calories per ounce and was too fattening. Instead he recommended whole cows milk (which has about 18 calories per ounce...lol). He is a fine doctor BUT is underinformed on the benefits of extended breastfeeding. Honestly the fact that he tried to dissuade me from breastfeeding because of "social implications" is incredibly irresponsible as a doctor of medicine.

I have a 69 year old lady hear that needs meds, she called and you don't accept her insurance, she needs a primary care doctor, she is in severe pain, and she needs a referral so she can get her efexorand we just can't find anyone to help, your add on the radio says you are taking patients, but you won't take her because she's on medicare, not cool, I thought you all cared, it's what your add says

Dr. Shrum is an outstanding doctor. He listens and keeps me informed of all recommended future treatments/care based on my history to insure I stay healthy. He cares about his patients and has good bedside manner. I highly recommend him. My family and I have been going to him for 6 years now.

has an ego of an inexperienced doctor. he and office staff are not caring to people below their status.

My wife and I have been using this doctor for five years. He and his staff are top notch. His diagnoses are consistently good and he will make referrals when needed.

Dr. Shrum is a good doctor but he has a huge ego and does not always like to listen to what a parent feels may be wrong with the child.
