Dr. Steven Siepser, M.D., F.A.C.S

He is very arrogant and would not listen to my concerns.

My experience with Dr. Siepser and my cataracts was one of changes. The surgical procedure went well, although he did complain about my eye depth making it difficult. The healing process also went well. The problems came with the results. I had stressed in all of my pre-procedure visits, and had in my medical record, that I wanted to have replacement lenses that provided good distance vision and that I would be quite satisfied continuing to wear glasses for close-up work. I have done this for over sixty years without any problems. The staff member who explained the procedure and lens choices pushed me to have higher priced lenses, rather than the standard monocular ones, explaining that the doctor could modify them after the procedure to fine tune them. This was not the case, so that was $5800 additional that I did not need to spend. For some reason, Dr. Siepser decided that I really needed implants that would provide good close-up vision and not the distance vision that I had… requested. When I asked him why he would do the opposite to my request, his entire tone changed. From someone who was pleasant and understanding, he began to belittle me, and even my profession. I explained that I couldn’t see clearly across a room, let alone enough to drive. His solution was to have me wear glasses for distance vision and I paid for a refraction for the same. Now I have glasses that allow me to see to drive, but not be able to read the speedometer or navigation system clearly. I can see across the room, but I can’t see my watch or cell phone without removing my glasses. When I contacted the office to request information as to what could be done about this constantly having to remove and replace these glasses, I was told that the doctor might do a lens exchange, subjecting me to a second set of procedures with no guarantee that things would be any better. The alternative was to tell the optician that I was dissatisfied and to have them remake them. As a result of the procedure and Dr. Siepser’s choices, my ability to see things is worse than it was before the surgery. If you choose this provider, be prepared to have your needs/desires ignored.

This guy is a butcher . If you want to see DONT ago there . He said I had cataract and did a so called drop-less surgery my eye is messed up from years back . He almost operated on the wrong eye . My eye is still bothering me after many years . I had to see another specialist who is still helping me after 6 years

I have mixed feelings about Dr Siepser. I believe he is an excellent surgeon. I had cataract surgery, PRK and a bunch of other procedures done by other doctors he recommend. The process took over year. The result was what I had hoped and other doctors looking at my eyes said they are amazed it went so well as usually that many procedures done can leave you with bad results. However, I also felt he was the happiest when he could operate (at which he is good at) but has trouble connecting with patients. I felt being friendly was an effort for him, not a part of his personality. One time after he had sent me to another doctor to get a procedure done, I came back and told him that the other doctor had recommended to wait a bit and observe how my vision develops before doing that procedure. Dr Siepser flew in a rage and ran out of the room. I was flabbergasted. The assistant apologized and I asked her to bring him back, as I still had questions. He did come back and answered them. But I… was shocked to say the least. I saw a lot of Dr Siepser and he had days when he was very friendly (genuine or not) and days were he appeared short tempered. The impression was confirmed by other people I talked to who knew him. I also think he pushed the "dry eye" treatment on me. I never felt my eyes were dry, but when he recommended it I thought ok, he must know what he was doing. It was a pleasant treatment, but I felt no difference (except in my wallet ;)). I spoke to one other person who was told to get the treatment and she also said she felt no difference and no improvement to her vision. So, in a nutshell I think he is definitely a great surgeon (other specialists I saw confirmed that) but also very "profit oriented" and let's say not a people person. Over all I do not regret I saw him, even though it cost me an arm an a leg. But my vision is excellent now, no glasses contacts, readers needed. I am kind of ok to take on a brilliant surgeon even if the bedside manner lacking sometimes. Maybe that is part of being a brilliant surgeon lol.

Dr. Siepser is a knowledgeable expert. However he is arrogant, and thinks he knows better than the patients what's good for them. He does not answer questions and I question his motives in pushing high costs treatments. He did not have successful outcome in my treatment.

I didn't know how bad my vision really was until Dr. Siepser fixed it.

Dr. Siepser is caring, professional and an excellent surgeon. I can finally resume driving at night, and the world is much brighter and colorful. He includes all followup exams and procedures in the initial price of surgery.

Dr. Siepser and his staff are extremely courteous and efficient. Dr. Siepser is a very skilled and professional surgeon, he saved my vision in my eye and brought my eye and me back to life. I lost my eye sight in a terrible accident. Dr. Siepser had to do many surgeries on me including placing a Crystalens, along with Stents, Laskik and Cataract Surgeries, to rebuild my eye and my sight. The Surgeries were a success thanks to Dr. Siepser. He keeps up to date with the latest technologies, he is very much a gentleman and a wonderful caring surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Siepser and his Practice, I can promise you, you won't be disappointed. ------- Denise La Mastra

Dr Siepser is a genius in regards to eye surgery. He appears sometimes a bit stressed out but he always takes the time to talk to you in person. I am very happy with the outcome of my surgeries and enjoy the fact that I will never need glasses, not even for reading.

I had cataract surgery, and eye stents....eye stents worked out ok as far as I know, but the cataract surgery left me with fixed pupils that won't dilate. Now when the light is too bright, or the sun, my eyes water unstoppable and cannot go without dark sunglasses!!!Horrible!!! I would not recommend anyone!!
