Was very unhappy with this visit, surgery was setup by other ortho doctors in his office because they said it was necessary to ease the pain in my shoulder with two torn muscles upper and lower rotor cuff. Two or tho doctors confirmed what my primary had told me and agreed i needed to have this done. As reluctant I was on surgery in the first place I had accepted it by the time I went to my preop appt with Dr Smith. I was prepared and he down played my issues and said my shoulder wasn't the issue. He said the pain on that day wasn't where it needed or could be repaired it was related to a back disease that was lifelong. Well that day the pain was different, everyday the pain is different in different spots but these torn muscles definitely need to be fixed. He blew me off and never even followed through with my primary as he claimed he was going to in order to refer me elsewhere or find another solution. I have a hard time functioning day to day with normal activities but that didn't… seem to matter. I went back to my doctor and she was in disbelief that I hadn't had surgery and is referring me for another opinion. Just very unhappy with the way I was treated and dismissed like I just had to live in this constant pain.

While vacationing in Gatlinburg I fell and broke my femur. We live in Indiana so did not know anything about surgeons in the area. Dr. Smith was wonderful. His bedside manner was outstanding as he was very kind to me and my family. I followed his instructions on wound care and my staples were removed with ease. Feel very lucky to have been in his care.

Left a msg for the doctor to call me, as I needed to talk with him personally - the doctor DID return my call the next day!

I had a knee replacement done by Dr. Smith. I am very happy with the results. I found Dr. Smith to be very professional, kind and caring. When I need my other knee done I'm hoping Dr. Smith is still available.

I had a bad fall one year ago. I broke both wrists. I immediately thought of Dr. Smith because he had treated me before. My wrists were in pieces. He delayed his vacation to do my surgery. One year later my wrists are back to normal. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Smith has helped me through some troubled times. He is very skilled and experienced. When I need an orthopedic dr. again, I will call on Smokey Mountain Orthopedics.

I broke 3 bones in my foot and they were pulled out of their joints as a result of a very unusual fall. Dr. Smith did the correct surgery on this very complicated break. He does not pander you or tell you what you want to hear. He tells you want you need to know and takes his work seriously. I whole heartily recommend him.

I have been treated by Dr. Smith for a knee injury after a fall in May of this year. I am very happy with his treatment. He ordered xrays and then an mri when the pain did not subside. Last week, he preformed a scope to investigate further because the pain was still not eleviated. Although the mri and xrays did not show it, Dr. Smith discovered and repaired torn cartilage in my knee. I am very happy with his professionalism and care. The office staff is very helpful and effiecient. I would recommend Smoky Mountain Orthopedic to my friends and family in the future.

Did not really show any empathy seemed to be more interested in getting to the next patient and going home.

To fast he didnt care asked me nothing didnt tell me what to do, maybe if i was a older i would have been treated better whos knows, over all not professional at all, im in pain,worried im Dispointed.
