Dr. Steven Michael Solano, MD

Not so sure this is the right field for him. Arrogant and no compassion. I actually felt uncomfortable talking with him. Couldn't get out of his office fast enough.

Enough said. Nobody wants to hear that crap while they're in the stirrups.

He is the best doctor and and a wonderful person

The Dr. makes you feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend any patient to go and see this doctor.

Dr Solano performed my hysterectomy almost three years ago. My pain began as soon as I started healing from the surgery. When I expressed to him that I was in pain, he replied, "well, you shouldn't be," and that was the end of it. He was dismissive and arrogant, and I am in pain everyday of my life since he performed this surgery. He did not prepare me for any emotional or physical side effects that could possibly occur after the surgery. In my opinion, I received the worst possible care with Dr Solano, and I am paying for his arrogance (I believe this complicated surgery was outside of his skill set) every single day. There are days I can barely walk thanks to this man. Please, please, please seek treatment elsewhere. He is THE absolute worst.

Inappropriate behavior.

The characteristics that come to mind when I think about Dr. Solano are caring, patient, modest, educated, and humble. He has seen me through 2 pregnancies and is the most comforting doctor I have ever seen. He has a way of making you feel more like a friend than a patient, which makes it a pleasurable to go to each and every appointment that comes with being pregnant. He is also the type of person that will always seek out an answer in the rare occasion he doesn't have a solution. To me this is a rare quality for a doctor to have and a precious one as well. He is the type of doctor that goes the extra mile for his patients, and then another if that's what it takes to provide the patient with what they need. The bottom line is I couldn't have asked for a better OB to take care of me, and my husband agrees. Any one would be lucky to have Dr. Solano as a doctor. He maintains a relationship with his patients which is important, especially in this specialty.

I've seen a woman-gynecologist all my life - because I believed that only a woman could know what I'm going through when it comes to women's health. After meeting Dr. Solano, I was proven wrong. Like the previous author - I had an appointment with the female in Dr. Solano's office but she got called away and I was placed in his schedule. At first, like most - I was a little nervous, but this young gentleman walked into the room and sat down, and we started talking about my weekend for the first ten minutes of the appointment - he put me right at ease! Dr. Solano is a wonderful caregiver who listens and doesn't focus on rushing through a visit, but rather hearing what I have to say. He is not rough like other female gynecologists I have seen in the past. His staff in Westborough are all wonderful. I will be telling my friends to switch to him!

Dr. Solano is an amazing doctor. He saved my life. After seeing another doctor who told me that I did not have an ovarian cyst, I ended up in the ER with pain and they found a cyst. They told me to follow up with my regular doctor, but since the previous one didn't see the cyst I had reservations about going back. They recommended another doctor in Dr. Solano's practice, thank God that doctor did not have any openings and I was scheduled with Dr. Solano. Dr. Solano saw that I was not looking well and insisted that I go to the ER. He was right, I needed emergency surgery. I had only been a patient of his for 1 week and he cleared his entire schedule in about 2 hours to perform my life saving surgery. He also assembled a team of top quality surgeons from St. Vincent's to assist. I am so thankful that he had the knowledge to set up the team, because I needed it. I had several complications during the surgery and the team that he assembled was the best and were able to handle… everything. On the morning of the surgery he wanted to explain everything to me and my loved ones, but my family had not arrived at the hospital yet. He told me to call them and have them come ASAP and he would wait to talk to them. He did exactly that; he waited until my family was there and then spent the time to explain everything to them and me. Even though he had to get back to his office to clear his schedule for the surgery, he waited to make sure he talked to all of us and answered all of our questions without rushing. Dr. Solano's bedside manner while I was in the hospital was outstanding. He promised my husband he would care for me as if I was his own wife, and he did. Before the surgery, during the prep in the OR, I was in a lot of pain and was very scared, many doctors and nurses were doing different things and it was hectic. I guess he could see that I was totally stressed, he came over and just held my hand until I went under! I mean have you ever had a doctor do that? That small gesture helped me so much. Following the surgery, when he would visit in my hospital room, he as so kind and patient. Unlike all the other doctors, he would sit down and talk to me and my family. He would never look like he wanted to get out of there. He would stay and answer all of our questions and spend as much time as we needed. He has the ability to explain everything that is going on in a way you can understand and that puts your mind at ease. In my follow up visits at his office, he was the same. Very patient and calm and he never appeared to be rushed. He always takes all the time he needs to make sure you have all your questions answered. Being his patient gives me the feeling that he actually cares about me, I have not had that feeling from many doctors. Do yourself a favor and make him your OB-GYN!!!

I started my journey with Dr. Solano before I was a mother - he took care of me for all my annual women's care beginning in 2010 when his office was in downtown Worcester. For me...that office wasn't the best...as I met other doctors in that group and they didn't have half the compassion Dr. Solano did...so when he relocated to Westboro I followed him. Everyone in his new office is wonderful....his nurse Laurie and assistant Melissa welcome me and know me by name. Dr. Solano, for a male OB/GYN, is one of the most caring physicians I know...he delivered one of my two children now, and has been there with me during great times and life's "bumps in the road". I recommend him to all my friends - he's just the type of person who cares just as much about how you're doing as a person as a whole....rather than your specific ailment.
