The Best Surgeon I’ve Ever Met – Truly Exceptional in Skill and Compassion. I owe Dr. Steven Williams a debt of gratitude that words can barely express. I had a bad gallbladder with severe Acute Chronic Cholecystitis that had a 1.2 cm stone completely impacted in the gallbladder neck, preventing contrast from entering the gallbladder on preoperative imaging and during the minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. The simple laparoscopic cholecystectomy became complex due to dense inflammation and a massively enlarged, thickened gallbladder that was extremely difficult to remove. During the same operation, Dr. Williams discovered and repaired an unexpected umbilical hernia that no one had previously detected. From the moment I met him, his warmth, vibrant energy, and genuine empathy put me at ease despite how sick I was. He openly shared that he has been on the patient side of surgery himself, and that personal experience clearly fuels the extraordinary compassion he shows every… patient. His communication before, during, and after surgery was outstanding—clear, honest, and delivered with kindness. In an era where truly exceptional surgeons who combine elite technical skill with profound humanity are rare, Dr. Steven Williams stands in a class of his own. I have unfortunately had far too many encounters with the medical system to make comparisons lightly—Dr. Williams is, without question, the finest surgeon I have ever met. Dr. Williams is awesome! Dr. Williams, his staff and the entire staff at Treasure Valley Hospital are beyond amazing. They were always on time and they spent the time with me to answer all of my questions. Dr. Williams had already reviewed the reasons for my coming in and had reviewed my complete file. He was professional, clear, concise and caring in his approach to my problem. I had been seeking treatment elsewhere for over four years with no relief and Dr. Williams scheduled surgery to remove my gallbladder within two weeks of my first consultation. I did a lot of research before seeking his help and I am so pleased with the results. My three hour drive to have him preform my surgery and the experience at the Treasure Valley Hospital was definitely worth the drive. I feel like a new person who was cared for and treated with respect.

Dr. Williams was amazing through my entire gallbladder removal process; from why I was there in the first place to my follow-up appointment! He has a wonderful sense of humor and great bedside manner which is hard to find these days in doctors let alone surgeons. He explained everything in detail so I knew what to expect and answered all my questions. I 1000% would recommend him to anyone who asks!

Dr Williams is professional, humorous, to the point, explanative, and a great guy. He did a fantastic job with my gall bladder surgery and I could not be happier. If I had another gall bladder, I'd want Dr Williams to be the one to take it out!

I was referred to Dr. Williams by my GI doctor for a consult on having gall bladder surgery. Dr. Williams was extremely professional, courteous and took plenty of time to explain the surgery process and aftermath. The surgery was conducted at Treasure Valley Hospital and was far and away the best surgical experience of my life. Everyone was amazing. The surgery went flawlessly, despite the issues of my adhesions, and Dr. Williams did a perfect job! I was home that evening and was well on the road to healing that week. I had no issues at all post-surgery and was ready to go back to work ten days later!! If I had a complaint it was simply a scheduling issue on my post op follow-up that seems to have not been entered in the receptionists computer. Thanks very much Dr. Williams!! I know where to go if I ever need a surgeon again!!
