I had a similar experience to others with Dr. Ater over-prescribing. It was very hard to get my son down to the right dose.

Stewart ater is highly underrated. The things he did to test my brain have led to me having an interest in understanding how synapses work, and that dexterity and hand-eye coordination have a lot to do with attention issues. He quit attempting to work with me when he realized that other diagnoses proved that I needed another specialist, but any guy that teaches about the way the human brain works at Harvard *should* be able to solve your problems. Rate the doctor next time, other reviews. I'm 6'0, so I don't think my growth was stunted, either.

Dr. Ater is everything a doc should be. His expertise is far above any other pediatric neurologist that we found. I recommend him all the time because he's the best. My son is an amazing adult now. He's 6'2". No stunted growth because I made sure he had good nutrition.

Dr. Ater is a medical entrepreneur. He goes from school-to-school presenting to parents on ADD/ADHD. He will (over) drug your child to the point where their growth will be stunted, their cardiovascular system will be permanently damaged, and their problems will be kicked on down the road to arise yet again someday with a vengeance. I'm speaking from experience. Avoid this quack if you care about your child. You will regret it later if you don't.

Dr. Ater wss congenial, and easy to bet an appointment with. But, he over prescribed psychiatric medicine. I got a second opinion for my son, fortunately. But it was very hard to get him down to a good dose without affecting his behavior. I wish we had known ahead of time.
