Dr. Stuart D Boyd, MD

Dr. Boyd performed surgery on me in 2012. My wife and I flew from Northern California to consult with him. That was literally the only time I ever saw him. He did not see me before or after surgery. When I flew back down for a post-surgery check to see him as scheduuled, he was not available; instead I saw his P.A. My treating internist called this malpractice.

Dr. Boyd did cancer surgery on Greg, after two top doctors at top hospitals said it couldn't be done! Greg is now Cancer-Free, after being told he was not only terminal but inoperable by two other experts in the field of urology. We will forever be grateful for Dr. Stuart Boyd, and can never thank him enough for saving Greg's life.

poor aftercare/fully documented

I cannot recommend Dr. Boyd. I had a terrible experience with him; he's a doctor that in my opinion gives patients very little attention and likes to act too busy and important for his patients. Although I wanted to speak with him directly, it was very difficult, only once did I get the "privilege" of speaking to him in his presence; I was usually referred to his resident-in-training. Never did he explain to me my urological condition or really did anything to help me through my suffering.

Had 3rd stage anul Cancer in 2011. Had radiation and chemo. 10 months ago my scrotum started getting larger! Looked like a water ballon! I was very discouraged and honestly fearful of what may happen! My urologist had many tests and said it was radiation damage to my lympnoids and he couldn't help me! Had another Dr. Look and respond omg how can you live like that? I was so upset! Then he had me go to USC to see Dr Boyd! I was laying on the table he walked in checked it out! Then in a very confidant manner said I know you feel as if your differant and odd! But your not this isn't uncommon and went on to explain what he would do to make me normal again! I left with a feeling a bolder was lifted off my shoulders. Waiting for approvel and surgery time. A little nervous about the procedure but confidant in Dr. Boyd! Will get back after surgery!

Very courteous, caring, and detailed in his exam and questions to prepare my history. Did not try to hurry me.....answered all my many questions very patiently. He explained the operation very completely and clearly. After the surgery, spent time with me to discuss the procedure and what to expect re recovery time and any limitations. He is a very skilled surgeon and my results were very good without any complications. I found him to be excellent in all aspects of medical treatment and care. I would highly recommend him to all my friends.

It has been nearly two years since my father died. We have yet to receive any apology from Dr. Boyd for the" patient satisfaction" survey sent to my father, at my mother's address, roughly one year after he passed. Our entire experience with Dr. Boyd was cold, non-informational, and unsatisfactory. We were misled about my father's prognosis and he went straight downhill following Dr. Boyd's procedure. All Dr. Boyd emphasized was how independently my father would be able to live after the surgery. He lied and was paid roughly $300,000 for his efforts. If I could rate less than one star, I would.

The procedure Dr. Boyd performed on me was left me worse off than before the procedure. But he wouldn't know that because there was no follow-up. As him about his success rate, and how he measures the success rates.
