Dr. Stuart Earl Sybesma, MD

I am a retired OR nurse and I worked with Dr. Sybesma for over 10 years. We did many kinds of procedures but our specialties were general surgery. I was in the last 10 years of my career as a surgical RN and I'd worked at some of the best hospitals in the Twin Cities, including the U of MN and Abbott Northwestern Hospitals. I worked with some of the legends of Minnesota medicine. But, Stu, as he was called by friends, was spectacular. I remember one day when I was walking down the hallway of the hospital where we worked and I was with my adult daughter. I said to her, "Do you see that man walking in front of us?" I continued, "Just so you know, he has my permission to operate on any body part I have except my brain." That's how much I trusted him and admired his skill. I write this with great fondness for a surgeon who made a difference both in my life and in the world.
