Dr. Sudha Nagalingam, MD

I'm a 21 year HIV survivor. Have had many Dr.s over the years. Dr. Suda has been a blessing to my health. She really gets the idea of being able to add a personal human touch with a hard proffession . This is a rare trait in modern day medicine.

I have been hiv+ for over 20+ years. I am very open and honest with my doctor. From my first visits I trusted her as I did my previous doctors. However, I found out after the fact she had been drug testing me without my informed consent or any discussions but based solely on hearsay and information from me she used subterfuge to elicit about some usage over 10+ yrs in the past. When I brought it to her attention she sd in the future she wouldnt do that again, yet throughout the entire time Ive been her patient she has continued to do so. My age, sleep apnea and recent medical situations on top of the side effects of the hiv meds have contributed to my profound and chronic fatigue, so much so I have found it increasingly difficult to live alone and maintain my apt. I mentioned this to her repeatedly over months yet, while she could have done something., she imposed her values and personal views on my healthcare and did nothing but leave me to languish in that state.. When I wrote her… and told her my feelings she has yet to reply and pushed me off onto her medical case manager who told me flat out I had no right to second quess her care. Not am I so much disappointed with her but I am incensed at how she has allowed her opinions to impact my care and my overall quality of life...If you see her be mindful of this and dont let her cut corners on your care. She should do some deep soul searching and provide the type care the person requires to be healthy by their definition not hers...
