Dr. Sujatha Sajeevan, MD

I wish I had come to this site and read the other review before blindly trusting an acquaintance's recommendation. I went for a routine yearly physical check-up which is completely covered by insurance only to get a $300+ bill eight weeks later on the last day of the year. Seems like I'll have to get insurance and an attorney involved. Now, let's talk about the other unprofessional aspects of my visit. I requested an allergy test, which Sujatha agreed to but I never got results. On asking, Sujatha gave me wishy-washy answers like the lab might not have had enough blood, so they couldn't have run the test and I need to visit again. I called the lab in question, and they confirmed that the test was never ordered in the first place! Even during the visit, this woman, Sajeevan, aggressively asked questions about my personal life that were none of her business and gave unasked for and unwelcome advice, constantly advocating for "arranged marriages". This female needs to learn how to stay… in her lane and focus on her work!

Unfortunately, you can't give zero stars! If you don’t want to experience a total nightmare, don't ever pick this facility! Incompetence and rudeness at the highest level! Strongly contemplating to file a complaint at NC Medical board. This was my experience. Since I am an independent contractor I pick my insurance from the exchange system and regrettably sometimes the doctor I like doesn't carry the insurance I pick. Every year I choose the insurance which offers the best coverage for the price. This is how I ended up with Dr. Sujatha Sajeevan and her office, Spectrum. When I called them I was very clear that I’d like to take weight-loss medication and all I want is be referred to a cardiologist to check if my heart is in good condition before I ask the doctor to prescribe it again. They told me I have to come in for a consultation. First impression of this office: the waiting room is empty in the middle of the day and the file cabinets behind the front desk… administrator/nurse(?) also empty. When I was called, the same administrator/nurse(?) greeted me, weighted me,(missed the correct number by ten lbs) checked my blood pressure, (totally inaccurate) and decided to perform an ECG. Before I left the office Dr. Sajeevan ask me to allow the test again because the administrator/nurse(?) apparently didn’t do correctly that one either. My next surprise was when I got my bill of $125. My understanding was that I have zero co-payment. I called my insurance and they inform me based on my request, this office should have coded the invoice to them as a preventative visit. The insurance representative was so sweet, she insisted to have a conference call between all of us, (Cigna, Sprectum and me) to straighten things out. What happened during our conversation was something I never experienced at any medical office. The administrator/nurse(?) with intolerable tone started to scold us that no, they didn’t make any mistake with the coding. Needless to say that our conversation turned into a shouting match and ended with her slamming the phone on us. Once we (the insurance rep and I) realized that she slammed the phone on us, I’ve got into my car because I wanted personally to report her to the doctor. I have never experienced such a rude and unprofessional treatment from a medical office in my entire life. The doctor wasn’t in the office (3 pm) but this woman continued her tirade and shouting when I reminded her that every single procedure she performed was incorrect so I have very little faith that she filed the claim correctly to insurance. The following day for my request Dr. Sajeevan did call me and assured me that she will investigate this matter. I can tell you she never followed up with that promise or contacted me again. Needless to say, my next contact from this office was an invoice with the exactly the same amount, we disagreed with. I feel furious that I scheduled a simple visit and I ended up with needless and incorrectly performed procedures just to milk the insurance and me. Utter incompetence!
