Dr. Suman Golla, MD

I made a new patient appointment with this physician and was seen by a PA. My UPMC dermatologist told me that it is against medical protocol to pass a new patient to a PA without being seen by the doctor AT LEAST one time. Also, if you are going to do that, you need to inform the patient when they call for the appointment. $50 co pay to see "a specialist"...yeah right. She didn't listen or understand anything. I don't appreciate this. Zero transparency.

Dr Golla helped our son with an urgent need, and did it efficiently, compassionately, and with great expertise. Her bedside manner is truly amazing!

I found Dr. Golla after an incident with an ear had sent me to the ER. After my initial call, they saw me within 2 days. I was very happy with the visit. On my follow up visit, she cleared me on my original problem. I asked if I could talk to her about some chronic sinus issues that I have had for years. She pulled a chair over so we could speak face to face. Told her my issues, she ordered a test, then prescribed prescription nose sprays and I was cleared up in a few weeks. I had battled sinus problems for years, on my own, with limited results. I am EXTREMELY Grateful to Dr. Golla and her staff

Dr Golla was very competent. Was kind explained everything in clear detail. Felt she spent time and was not hurried. I understand she will no lo get be practicing g with UPMC. That is their loss hope she will be in practice near by.

Dr Gills operated on my thyroid and also my face and neck. Nobody would know it since there are no scars. I was sad to hear that she is not practicing at the Monroeville office. Why???? She’s an excellent Dr., compassionate, caring, incredibly gifted surgeon. I’m very upset if UPMC let her go!!!!!!!

First off, Dr. Golla was very short with me and had me in and out of her office in a matter of 10 minutes each of the two times I visited her. She did not take anytime whatsoever to get to me. She issued an allergy test for me and I told her that I had already had that procedure done and thought it was redundant. She persisted so I followed through with it anyway, unaware of the high cost I now need to pay. Not only did the test tell me nothing new, but it was also a skin allergy test rather than blood allergy test, and was thus not as accurate and detailed as it could be. So, I wasted hundreds of dollars on a poor experience and procedure I felt pushed into doing. I would not recommend Dr. Golla.

I went to Dr.Golla on the advice of my family Dr. When I got there they told me she was in surgery and took me into the examining room to wait.I waited for over a half hour and an assistant came in and told me they were going to do a hearing test,something I was not told I needed. When the Dr finally came in she rushed me thru my appointment so fast and never helped my problem. So I paid my co payment and 2 weeks later I get another bill for a hearing test? I am not a happy person about this!!

I highly recommend Dr. Suman Golla - My daughter experienced tonsillitis 8 x through this past year and finally I reached out to UPMC who referred me to Dr. Suman Golla. Our initial doctors office visit at St Margarets Hospital was very professional and I knew instantly she would help my daughters throat condition. Dr Golla is very knowledgeable with throat/tonsillitis conditions. The surgery went far better then we thought. Having been warned about the excruciating pain after having tonsils removed cannot compare to the pain when my daughter was going through the relapses. So grateful for Dr. Suman Golla and the surgery technique she does is pain-tolerable. She cares about her patients and takes the time to explain and answers questions without feeling rushed. Also, her office staff is great too......everyone works well together to help you. Thank-you Dr. Golla - my daughter can finally move forward.

I recently saw Dr. Golla for a minor issue. I waited over an hour to be seen. She breezed in and didn't even close the door. She examined my ears, nose and throat and felt my neck in less than a minute. I had several questions that I wanted to ask. I got a few words out and she cut me off and told me that her discharge nurse would answer me. I was dumbfounded. I expected them to do a hearing test. She said return in ten days for a hearing exam? Why? To pay for a other office visit? All told I spent a half an hour circling the terrible parking- an hour and a half in the office and was seen for less than one minute. Very frustrated. I will not be returning.

I would avoid going to this Dr. based on my experiences with the doctor and the office staff.
