Dr. Sumathi Srivatsa, MD

Knowledgeable, Courteous, Capable

I have been seeing Dr. Srivatsa for about 2 years now. She is very warm and takes the time to get to know you. She listens to questions and answers them thoroughly. I have never found her to be rude or condescending at all. She is very knowledgable and may give a quick answer, but that is because she knows what she is talking about! I would recommend her to any of my friends.

I blindly selected Dr. Srivatsa from a list of Emory endocrinologists and was delighted to have found her. That was over 20 years ago and I still look forward to my quarterly appointments. She explains new developments in diabetes research and I feel like she's always monitoring the literature for new approaches to management and care. She doesn't over-order tests but the diagnostics that she does order are thorough and meaningful since she explains what they indicate for me. If there is any drag on promptness, it's getting from the main waiting area to the exam room and I don't think that's doctor-driven.

There is a reason why she has low ratings... Even if you have to wait longer to see a better doctor, just wait. I recommend that you dont waste your time and money for an Inaccurate Diagnosis.

Just moved to ATL, and thought I'd try her out. Somewhat happy. I don't think she is really open to alternative ways to treat people, and doesn't seem to think there might be slight differences in how to treat each individual. To me, that is what makes a doctor GOOD, adjusting the little thngs that may affect each individual more. She seems to just "cut n paste"the same protocols for everyone. I say this because she asked me no questions about my history, or even how I was currently feeling. I am extremely happy with the quick Check In/Out procedures at the office. One of the best Dr Offices I've been to in that area.

I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease while a law student at Emory University. I was referred to Dr. Srivatsa in the winter of 2007. She is very knowledgeable and caring and always took her time with me. She even did well when my parents would join me with my appointments. I ended up having to have a full thyroidectomy because of my condition, and my parents loved her. (They would know being medical professionals themselves.)Four and a half years later, I now live 2 and 1/2 hours away from Atlanta and I still see Dr. Srivatsa. I am dreading the day I will have to move to a city too far away to see her.

Awesome doctor. Great bedside manner. I visited 2 other endocrinologist before I found her. Have been seeing her for 5 years now. :)

I think Dr. Srivatsa has the best bedside manner of any Dr. I've been to. She calmed my nerves and even squeezed me into her jammed schedule to perform a last minute ultrasound and biopsy. That saved me another co-pay bill as well as a lot of time.

I went to see Dr. Srivatsa because she is supposed to be a thyroid specialist. After waiting almost an hour and a half, she would not let me discuss any symptoms, only asked me about 3 questions, and wouldn't do any labs other than the crap TSH and total T4, even when I asked her to. She also basically fired me on my way out. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone who is seeking help with thyroid disorders diagnosis.

I have been seeing Dr. Srivatsa for over 10 years for a chronic thyroid problem. She is personable and has been a good doctor for the maintenance of my conditions. I do a lot of research on my condition on my own as well and ask detailed questions and she readily discusses the disease. I find no complaints.
