Dr. Vijayasudha Gunna, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Gunna for approximately eight years for treatment of my thyroid condition. During that time, I have always appreciated Dr. Gunna’s care and medical expertise. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with the front desk staff was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. After missing an appointment, I called to reschedule and was told by the receptionist that she would need to “check to see if I could even be accepted as a patient.” This was shocking considering I have been an established patient there for nearly a decade. Because I needed my thyroid medication refilled, I scheduled an appointment with my primary care physician to avoid any lapse in medication. When the front desk later called me back, I explained that I had already received my refill through my primary doctor. The receptionist then stated that she would delete me from their system. When I attempted to explain that I did not want to cancel my care with the practice, she was extremely… rude and hung up on me. This interaction was disheartening and completely unprofessional, especially for someone who has been a loyal patient for eight years. While I have always liked Dr. Gunna, the new front office staff clearly lack professionalism and basic patient care etiquette. I am choosing to take this as a sign that it may be time to find a new endocrinologist, but I felt it was important to share this experience so other patients are aware. Very disappointing.

Very unprofessional. Long wait time. Additionally they forgot to send in my prescription even though I reminded them later. Did not address my concerns!!

Dr. Gunna is amazing. One of the first doctors I encountered since moving to Georgia that really took the time to speak with you and educate you. Great Doctor. Great Bedside Manner. Successfully weaned off thyroid meds.

If you are a text book case, then this doctor is perfect for you. If you are out of the box, I suggest you see someone else. Dr. Gunna will only prescribe Synthroid and will only test your TSH and Free T4. She is very uncaring and unwilling to do anything else. She is unwilling to test Free T3, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies, and your sex hormones(SHBG). She will not respond to any of your symptoms and completely dismisses them. She ignores and discounts the significant impact of thyroid malfunction. I have had adrenal disruptions, low testosterone, low iron levels, food sensitivities, inflammation, leaky gut, just to name a few. I am so grateful I have been seeing a functional doctor and he is currently addressing ALL of my issues.

I am soooo happy to have Dr. Gunna as my endocrinologist. Soooo new to me! Never had any health issues! I love the fact that she’s patient and listens to me. I also love the fact that she is not all about loading her patients on meds if not needed! I Trust that God speaks to her in the care that she provides.

Dr Gunna gives her patients her undivided attention, she listens and as questions about your concerns. Her staff is professional and courteous. I was referred to her and was in to her office in 2 days.

Vijaya has been take care of my mother-in-law over the past two years. She is considerate and patient with her and ensures that she spends the time to be able to get the complete picture to adjust the medications as needed fo my mother-in-law. We appreciate the promptness of the front office and highly recommend her team

She doesn't give refill after 3 months expects to do lab first. Money first
