I have been trying to see this "doctor" for over 6 months- voice messages are unanswered and no one ever answers the office phone. Literally can't wait anymore and moving on. Thanks for nothing.

Does everything perfectly. My last psychiatrist prescribed meds that were contraindicated but Dr. Saxena quickly identified and fixed the problem.

I've been seeing Dr. Saxena for about two months, and I can already say that I don't do well with him and I find it hard to believe that anyone else would. Right from the start, he kept interrupting me while I was trying to tell him what was going on. When he heard that I used to drink and have parents who drink, he started telling me that I was going to spiral and go down into a hole, even though I told him that I stopped. He made the entire first appointment, which lasted about 15 minutes, about my history and family's substance abuse history. The second appointment, I waited for AN HOUR AND A HALF to get into his office. He had at least 3 people waiting as well, who were there before I was. Lastly, he prescribed me lithium, telling me to eat with it but failed to tell me how much to eat. Apparently I didn't eat as much as I was supposed to when he upped my prescription and I spent the whole morning of the next day spewing stomach bile. I gained 5 pounds in the first week, and I only… ate one meal a day with the medication. Currently I'm sitting in bed, recovering from a NEW medicine he gave me, Abilify, which I was told has "no side effects whatsoever." While I'd like to think that he has good intentions, he doesn't seem to care about the patient and who they really are, he just seems to like prescribing medications without knowing the full story. After 2 months of being medicated, my bipolar 2 disorder (I hope he gave me the right diagnosis for that) has not gotten better. Please consider going to someone else if you want to remain healthy.

Dr. Saxena is very quick to prescribe very expensive medications, with problematic side effects after only a short and not very informative conversation. He had slapped a bipolar label on me and sent me out the door with a prescription for lithium before I could even tell him about my recent episode!

You mean absolutely nothing to him...10 years been seeing him so I know him very well. His business, his self/own well being and money are what matter...If/when it comes to doing ANYTHING to help a patient that may sacrifice him making money he has every rule ready to go on why he can't make any exception whatsoever. Also he is blatantly hypocritical. For example;To save a huge amount of time,money, hassle of dealing with going to another doctor for a simple matter, I've asked Saxena for a prescription for an antibiotic to fight a sinus infection. He said no, I need to go to a general practitioner, he can't do that. Then another time years later even, I've gone in and he noticed I was under the weather, he has written me a script for that same antibiotic I had needed previously, this time it was legally/morally ok for some reason. I hope this explains what type of guy he jasmines hat, I could really go on forever on how he just doesn't care but won't, if I've gotten one person… to look elsewhere then I feel better, once you see him and he puts you on medicine that is physically addicting you will realize it is too late. He is not a therapist of any sort, he is just a legal drug dealer.

You're just a number in this place. Stay away.

ive been seeing dr saxena for 8 years.. he's a great doctor and a good person

When I went into his office, I told Saxena I had trouble concentrating in school. I am a nursing student taking rigorous courses, where concentration is crucial. He talked down to me incessantly, and came up with an improper diagnosis just by talking to me for 10 minutes. Although he is knowledgable, he isn't very comforting and approachable. I don't recommend him. Sorry

Despite learning from my teen-aged son that he was abusing alcohol and drugs (unknown to us at the time) Dr Saxena prescribed highly addictive stimulants - and not only continued this for 2 years but upped the dosage periodically at my son's request. He is a legal drug dealer - made no effort whatsoever to get real help or therapy for our son who, now that he is in good hands, believes Dr Saxena caused him serious harm.

He spends less than 15 minutes talking with me, just writes the script and sees the next patient. He is unsupportive and doesn't care for the patient outside writing a prescription. Find another doctor!
