Dr. Supriya Thirunarayanan, MD

Today I brought my elderly parents for their first visit with Dr. Supriya Thirunarayanan. My father who is 88 years old, and my mom who is 85. As a very organized person, I always carry copies of their IDs, medication lists, and insurance cards. I even went there 2 weeks ago to get a new patient's packet paperwork, because they refused to email/fax it to me. This office offers "my chart" but there is no option to fill out new patients paperwork. I also faxed over all their medical records from another neurology doctor. The front desk lady took the paperwork, came back in 5 minutes, and said "We can not see your parents because you didn't bring the original IDs". Who carries their original IDs and cards these days? I work in the doctor's office and have been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. Everyone has digital images of everything on their phones. In our office, we mostly see elderly patients. Do you know how many elderly patients do not have any form of ID anymore,… because they misplaced or lost them? We never turn away our patients because they do not have IDs and providing every patient with a new patient packet paperwork is a part of scheduling their appointment. Why would we refuse to provide a patient with paperwork for their upcoming appointment and they are willing to fill it out ahead of time? I have been taking my parents to various doctors for the past 6 years, providing copies of their IDs and insurance cards, and not a single office asked me for the original ID. Their office manager came out and said "There is a law that states no ID, no visit". There is no law in America that states you will be turned away if you do not have a plastic ID with you. A paper copy or digital ID is fine, especially for 88-year-olds. I was begging the manager to let the doctor see my parents. I spent an hour putting their clothes on them and driving them in 100-degree weather. I asked to talk to Dr., and the manager said "You may be sure, the doctor will not talk to you". I was crying, because I waited 2 months to see this new neurology doctor. I will also let you know, that when you call their office (weird phone # with 903 area code), your phone call does not go to the office. It goes to a call center in another country. They never pick up the phone. You have to leave a message and wait for the callback. Shame on you as a healthcare professional for treating our elderly patients like that. I hope you will be treated with the same "respect" you showed my parents today when you get older.

The doctor and staff are great. Always pleasant and friendly. I am never rushed and everything is fully explained.

The staff and doctor are great. You get a friendly welcome. The nurse is sweet, knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. If you like sitting in a room waiting for the doctor, then you will have a good time. When she does comes in she will be through and go over everything.

The doctor is great and so is Jennifer. When she calls to report test results she is so thorough. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional

Everyone is so friendly. From the front desk, to the nurse, to the doctor. I always feel valued.

Dr. Thiru and Jennifer are great!!!! Always helpful through the portal and phone calls too.
