Dr. Suraj Ashok Muley, MD

Do not waste your time. Do not waste your hard earned money. There's a reason this doctor gets poor reviews. Based on 2 tests he's willing to look no further, and tells someone experiencing problems with passing out and lightheaded AS I WALKED down their hallway to my room...told him so and still....according to these 2 tests my issue is psychological not physical . Despite telling him I experienced this as i walked in no physical or neurological exam performed of any kind. He will not make any effort to find an answer. Look for someone else if you want someone who actually cares to look beyond 2 tests.

I waited weeks to see him and he was totally disinterested in my history. Didn't even ask for my papers. Dismissed me with you have nerve damage and nothing you can do! Kept looking at his watch and worst bedside manner. I want truth and says all my doctors aren't telling truth. Well he didn't even begin to get it. No conclusion or an other offer to help! Wow! Don't waste your time with this guy.

I was sent to this doctor by Progressive insurance. The report was laughably inconsistent, contradictory and factually inaccurate. Independent medical exams are designed to prevent insurance companies from paying for the treatment you need, but you'd still think he'd get my age right (he said I was 37 and I'm 33). He spent most of his exam looking at my knee which had nothing to do with the accident. I don't know if he's any different if you see him on purpose, but make sure you are eligible for arbitration if you are scheduled to be "seen" by him. His receptionist was nice.

I had one appointment with Dr. Muley. I came from out of state and waited 2 months for the appointment. The doctor could not give me a full 15 minutes of his time. His exam was brief and inconsistent. He was unable to answer my questions and did not take the time to even review my medical history. He dismissed my concerns and had the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced. I would not recommend this so called "docto"r to my worst enemy.

I was thrilled with my appointment

Dr. Muley is an outstanding neurologist and a brilliant diagnostician. He has been my neurologist for 4 years. I'm from Tucson but drive up to Phoenix to see him because he is worth it. Before finding Dr. Muley, I'd been seen by two neurologists in Tucson, neither of whom had a clue how to diagnose me. I have a rare autoimmune disease and was getting progressively worse (loss of balance, inability to walk). But when I was finally referred, after 2 years, to Dr. Muley, he was able to put all the evidence together, give me a correct diagnosis, and begin treating me immediately. [How do I know his diagnosis is correct? It was confided independently by neuromuscular neurologists at Mayo Clinic, Rochester Minn., and at Northwestern Hospital, Chicago). Over the next 1.5 years, he was willing to refer me to specialists at two other top institutions at my request when I wanted a second opinion or to discuss treatment alternatives. He also supported my insurance appeal for my treatment… and did a peer-to-peer phone consultation with another specialist. For such a brilliant doctor, he is very modest and unassuming. He always takes my opinion and desires into account when considering next steps. He communicates with me directly by email in between appointments, as needed. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Muley. He saved my quality-of-life and has kept me walking for the last 4 years.

Only seen once. Office and staff more than pleasant. Dr. seems efficient, spent time. Appears competent but much too early to tell. The most recent review is much b etter. Perhaps he has mellowed out??

I'm surprised by the other reviews. They have been the exact opposite. He first saw me in the hospital when they were trying to figure out why I suddenly went blind in one eye. He was extremely caring, very knowledgeable, explained things as long as I needed. He fought my insurance company when they wanted to put me on a less expensive drug that was not right for me. I'm not sure if these other reviews are actual patients of his since they never describe anything that I have witnessed. I have Multiple Sclerosis and Dr. Muley has been excellent. I would recommend him to all other MS patients.

I selected Barrows for a procedure and Dr. Muley was the provider. I am a retired RN and I have to admit that during all my years as both a nurse and a patient I have never met such a rude and angry doctor. I was frightened by him. Out of concern for others I told him that I believe he needs a mental health evaluation. His response confirmed his need for an evaluation. He rambled on about how he did the procedure as well as he would have done for his own mother, seemingly not realizing that when a patient is not under anesthesia that a certain degree of bedside manner is required. His manner goes far beyond poor social skills and is unacceptable by any standard. To frighten a patient with an outburst of anger prior to an invasive procedure is highly unprofessional. And, to complete a long, invasive procedure without ever speaking to the patient shows a complete lack of compassion. These are just two examples out of many that I endured during my visit. Life with a neuromuscular… disease is difficult enough, please be cautious if you have choices in providers. There are many compassionate, brilliant neuro specialists out there. In my opinion, Dr. Muley is not one of them.
