Dr. Suresh Manoharlal Roongta, MD

Dr. Roongta made his hospital visits between 10pm and 11 pm at night. I had to demand that he call me about my husband (his patient). My husband was unable to speak for himself. He continued to add one medication after another (without discontinuing the ones before) until my husband had seizures -- this guy is pathetic! Called me at my home at 11 pm to discuss my husband and I couldn't even understand him. Finally had to find a neurologist who was competent. Methodist Hospital should be afraid of being sued because of this man (notice I didn't say doctor).

Not much of a medical expert, it seems. Didn't have any interest in actually helping. Go elsewhere for a proper diagnosis. I was hospitalized for persistent tingling and numbing in the arms along with chest and joint pain, which was then followed by an irregular heart rate and other problems. My PCP sent me to the hospital for testing after another neurologist sent me to get an expensive MRI that didn't show anything. When Dr. Roongta showed up at the hospital, he gave me three explanations: - I was depressed (he was a psychiatrist all of a sudden) - It was "age" (I'm in my early 30s and in good health, so it didn't make sense and he didn't elaborate) - Nothing was wrong with me (his degree is worthless) None of this explained what was wrong with me (it turned out to be potassium deficiency). He was very condescending, berating me as he gave me these nonsense explanations. I'm not a medical expert and I was supposed to rely on his opinion. He gave me the… impression that I was after pain killers. (I don't have any need for them and have never been interested in getting any.) I was told I needed to schedule an appointment with him after I was discharged. After that hot mess of an explanation, there was no way I was going to follow up with him.

I've been a patient of his for 21 years & he makes the time to listen to your input for an acurate diagnosis. I have multiple health issues & was impressed with his knowledge of antidepressants for treatment of nerve damage in my shoulder. The same drug helped make abdominal pain from Ulcerative Colitis non existent at the same time. Knowledgable of results.

Super Sketchy! He only accepts cash and I was never warned in advance. I waited 3 weeks for my appointment, took off work, and arrived there to find out they will not accept my HSA or anything but cash or money order. Sounds like tax evasion to me. I left without seeing him. I figured if he runs his business this sketchy then he's probably not a good doctor.
