Dr. Susan Denice Bhushan, MD

I have been going to Dr. Bhushan for at least 10 years now, and I honestly have no complaints about her at all. She is very easy to get an appointment for, she listens to what I have to say. She is caring, kind and pleasant. She always enters the room with a smile and wants to know how my day is going. My Dad was a doctor and I know that his days sometimes were very stressful, so I believe that Dr. Bhushan probably is stressed, yet she is always very pleasant and caring. I really like her and I am so glad that I my insurance company recommended her. I've had a few doctors in time and I have to say, she's the best I've been to.

In the past 6 months I have seen Dr. Bhushan and the staff that supports her fall down in terms of attention to detail, communication and diagnosis. Issue #1 - undiagnosed cancer. After having 2 previous cancer fights and weeks complaining of severe back pain (4+weeks of oxycodone), it took an ER visit to diagnose the cancer. Dr. Bhushan should have noticed this was odd and recommended a quick visit to see if something was wrong. Issue #2 - poor follow up, not renewing prescriptions. Had arthritis in the shoulder seen while in the hospital and prescribed gabapintin. Dr Bhushan refused to renew and gave no reason. Had UTI and it took 4-5 days for her to follow up, not counting weekends. Issue #3– uncaring staff. Canceled appointment and did not call. Instead claimed they called a 3rd party and asked that to be relayed. The relationship with the patient (for 10 years) should be what matters. This practice is not about patient care, but instead concerned about dollars. Horrible… experience.

I have used Dr Bhushan about 15 years. I have dealt with many difficult and unusual illnesses over the years. She always listens, speaks very kindly to you, has an overall excellent bedside manner and does not pretend to know all things. She is a very real person and is willing to reach out for help,if needed. I am more than thankful for her and her fantastic nurse Holley. She is most definitely a rare find!

My family and I have been patients at Galen North for 20+ years. The office is very efficiently ran, and I never (I say never) have waited to be seen more than 20 or 30 minutes. Every physician at this practice is ready and available to treat their patients with respect. They are very attentive - if they feel the issue is serious, they're right on it and show concern. My PCP and GI both retired and I switched to other physicians within the practice. Dr. Bhushan listens carefully and gives excellent care. I highly recommend her or any other physician at this practice. The staff from the nurses, nurse practitioners, the lab, reception, and check-out are all friendly, concerned, and very helpful. If you have an issue, report it and they will resolve it promptly. If you're still not satisfied, maybe it's you and you really should go somewhere else.

Dr Susan Bhushan is a wonderful Doctor and i would recommend her highly. She is always on time , wait time is very minimal, she listens to everything you have to tell her about and makes follow up calls. She has a good sense of humor and is very professional and easy to talk to. Don't understand the negative comments at all.

My husband and I both go to Dr. Susan Bhushan. We moved from out-of-state and were having a hard time finding a doctor who accepted Medicare patients. My cousin, who is a nurse, happily recommended her because she was VERY satisfied with the care she had received from Dr. Bhushan. At my first appointment, I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased at the way she spoke with me and carefully listened as she gathered my medical history. I was very impressed with her diagnostic skills and her wide scope of medical knowledge. She refrained from making too many suggestions until she had seen my complete lab work, which I thought was very appropriate. I was so pleased I encouraged my husband to see her and he did. He felt she was very thorough and felt comfortable in her care. We have found Dr. Bhushan to be knowledgeable, kind, concerned and very friendly. The staff, the nurses, the lab workers are all very capable and very courteous. Between my husband's and my appointments, we have been… to the North Galen Medical Group numerous time and if there is a problem, it may be that there is not enough doctors in this group, which is causing Dr. Bhushan and others to be overworked. But as far as being satisfied, both my husband and I feel very fortunate to be under her care.

On my first visit, she was so kind and responsive as she had a NP with her that was training. Everything went downhill after that. She never looked pleased to see me- always had a bad attitude - it was really awkward. I probably saw her about 5-6 times over a couple of years including a 10 minute annual physical exam. Her nurse is nice - she isn't - stay away!

She is so demeaning. She talked to be as if I was 2years old and needed reprimanded! She is rude and thinks she is better than others!

Not so good. Kept me waiting for almost an hour. An annual physical in 15 minutes... Really?

Dr. Bushan is nothing like these negative reviews. I read them before going to her, but I went anyway because I had heard differently. She is a soft spoken, gentle doctor who listens and offers her advise or suggestion without being pushy. She is very down to earth and easy to talk with and I highly recommend her!
