Dr. Susan Mildred Hopkins, MD

I went in to see Dr. Hopkin's. I was seen by her P.A. Anna. I told her that I had a chronic cough with labored breathing and that I had been to urgent care 2X's already. She sent me immediately to get x-rays. I ended up having double pneumonia. I was hospitalized for 8 days. I made a follow up appointment because I was having pain in my ribs. She sent me for more x-rays. I had two broken ribs from coughing. My daughter was suffering from chronic pain. Long story short, she saw Anna who sent in referrals to various specialists to ensure that she was given a proper diagnosis. Lastly, I referred my parents to this office. My dad was recently diagnosed with an early onset of dementia. Dr. Hopkins was so sweet. She took her time, explained things in a manner that we could all understand. She was thorough and detailed. I've never felt rushed by Dr. Hopkins or Anna. I'm so very thankful to have found them.

My experience has not been positive. When I began to experience pain which progressed, I couldn't get an immediate appointment. I was told to go to urgent care which I didn't. I finally got an appointment much later on with her nurse Practioner. I explained my pain and all she did was take blood and didn't even examine me. I still haven't received the results of the blood test which I was told would take 10 days. My pain got worse daily. I called again for an appointment but was told I couldn't be seen for 5 days. The pain worsen to the extent that I had no choice but go to the emergency at Northridge Hospital on 10/13/17. They immediately gave me a Cat Scan which diagnosed the problem as Diverticulitis. They put me on antibiotics to insure the disease would not progress until I could see Dr. Hopkins which I have yet to do. This Saturday (10/14/17), I tried to call the office which is closed just to leave a message to verify my next appointment and couldn't even leave a call… back message unless it is an immediate emergency. This year is my first experience with Dr. Hopkins and when I met her after a very long wait for an appointment, she seemed very nice. However, they way her practice is being run is not (to me) in the best interests of her patients.

I am so grateful for a doctor like Dr. Susan Hopkins. Myself, my husband , children and grandchild are patients of hers. She has been a family doctor for about 20 years. Dr. Hopkins is kind and caring, will take the time to listen, and properly diagnose. She is great at follow through and will take all necessary precautions to provide the best possible medical care necessary. She has a wonderful bedside manner, and always makes me feel at ease and interested in my present medical issues. Her staff is genuinely kind and caring and professional. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Hopkins to anyone looking for a wonderful doctor.

Do NOT go to this doctor. This practice is more interested in Botox and Laser Surgery than Primary Care.

Absolutely no follow up after my visit, improperly diagnosed, and the antibiotic I needed came from another doctor who properly diagnosed me. There are better caring doctors out there, who care for your health, not let you know you are just another number.

Dr. Susan M. Hopkins has been my doctor for over 22 years plus from the very beginning of her practice in Northridge. She has been there for me in every chapter of my life. From being single, married, and delivering my daughter. I consider her to be a friend. She is still our family primary doctor. Dr. Hopkins listens to her patients and is always willing to provide you with excellent care as well as service. She is a doctor that is with you from birth till death. I would recommend her to God if I could. She is a five star medical doctor.

Both doctors I have been to here don't accurately diagnose issues and there are so many advertisements in the rooms it is obvious they are paid off. Dr. Hopkin's prescribes medications that she gets kick backs on, and continues to prescribe them even when you have issues with them! My problems still exist & I am looking for a doctor who actually CARES.

Dr Hopkins is a great doctor, she takes her time explaining things to me and she cares about me. Dr. Hopkins also took good care of my mother when she was first diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, my mother did not worry as much because she knew that she was in good hands with Dr. Hopkins

I have been going to Dr. Hopkins over 10yrs, she is always attentive to my concerns, asks probing questions, makes recommendations and I feel has always taken an active interest in my well being. I have referred many close friends to her and will continue to do so!

I have been seeing Dr. Hopkins for over 10 years and I have only had good experiences.
