Dr. Susan E Mahoney, MD

My daughter clearly had an infection based on the test results that we saw with our own eyes. Dr. Mahoney refused to prescribe medication and sent her home in pain. We called the next day and the Dr. that reviewed her chart said oh yes. It is definitely what you thought. We will call in a prescription immediately. My daughter spent an extra night in pain for no reason. Really one of the worst experiences with a doctor.

I was truly taken aback that she used disinformation and lied outright! I couldn't believe it! I think that there are some mental health issues that need to be addressed!

She Talks down to patients, is rude and doesn't listen to anything you say. I have NEVER had an experience like this in my life with a doctor. She has no idea what she is talking about. Diagnosed my daughter's sever sinus infection as allergies. Please go to someone else.

We took our newborn daughter to Dr. Mahoney shortly after she was born. In our first appointment we discussed our daughters jaundice. Dr. Mahoney recommended we give her formula instead of continuing to breastfeed but gave no clear explanation as to why. After repeatedly telling her we did not want to do use formula she still insisted. (We were having normal struggles breastfeeding but we're working extensively with laction consultants at the hospital and supplementing with donor milk.) Later in the afternoon after receiving test results she continued to push the formula route again over the phone. When asked to explain why she recommended that route she didn't not have a clear answer. She then told us to bottle feed the breast milk and again did not provide a clear reason why. Both these recommendations could have had major negative side effects in our breastfeeding journey. Additionally, she was condescending, speaking down to us as though we didn't know anything. Meanwhile, every… nurse, pediatrician and lactation consultant we spoke to at the hospital disagreed with her recommendation completely and applauded us for standing up for our daughter. We immediately decided to switch pediatricians. We were most upset by the lack of a clear explanation for her recommendation and the condescending manner in which she spoke to us. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Highly recommend finding another a pediatrician.

Worst doctor. Doesn't know anything. Gives wrong advice. Talks down to patients. I highly recommend going to someone anyone else than her. So many better pediatricians in the area. I can't believe they gave her a license and a job for that matter!
