Dr. Susan Ina Rosen, MD

I enjoy seeing Dr. Rosen very much. She is thoughtful and pays attention to detail. I think she is extremely approachable and has a nice bedside manner.

Dr Rosen took me in as a patient when I came back from LA sick as a dog. My Dr at the time was to busy to see me and I need to see someone ASAP. my friend in LA a former New Yorker suggested I call Yaffe Rudin and explain my situation. They had me come in right away and assigned me to Dr Rosen. Dr Rosen checked out my vitals and realized I needed to be hospitalized. Once I was released she followed up with a list of referrals. Needless to say, her quick thinking and assessment and proper referrals saved my life. Thank you Dr Rosen.

She takes her time. Listens thoughtfully.

I needed a new internist to handle my general health concerns and ongoing conditions after my doctor left the City. Several people from my office used this practice so I gave them a try. The office seemed efficient, and even kept an up-to-date account if the doctor was running on time. On my first appmt, they were ready to draw blood before I met with the doctor. I knew after speaking with her, she would want to do specific bloodwork. I had to stop them from drawing my blood a head of time. My first appmt was a physical and the dr told me we only had 30 minutes and we had to hurry. We continued to discuss my history as I changed into the gown, so as to not lose any time. I was barely able to cover everything I wanted to discuss because we were rushed. A physical involved an EKG and she needed to make sure we had timeOn my follow-up appmt, I brought all the paperwork with me that I collected from various doctors so this doctor can put it in my records. She advised me to take it home… since it could get lost. I asked her if she received the info she requested I send to her via their website e-mail, and somehow it never made it to her. I spent most of the appmt watching her type into the computer from the paperwork I brought with me. She seemed bright and knowledgeable, yet still had to look up a medication I was on, which I found disconcerting. I was in the office after the front desk staff had left, and was told leave my paperwork on a ledge where everyone could see my personal information. I was not happy with that.It felt like the doctor was limited in what she was allowed to do with me per appmt, and that the practice encouraged referring patients to her partners. She suggested I see one of their doctors for biofeedback for sleep issues, which was not a complaint of mine. In fact, I came to her due to exhaustion and not being able to stay awake. I asked for a refill of a nasal spray for allergies that I had gotten from previous doctors, and she gave me a sample of something else she had in her drawer. It turns out the medication is very different. It contained an antihistamine, which ended up knocking me out.Dr. Rosen also suggested that I try an amazing amino acid supplement that #1 works well with people of my heritage, and #2 they sold in the lobby. I am all for alternative treatments, but very skeptical of miracle drugs. It sounded too good to be true, but I tried to keep an open mind, and bought it. She told me there was info all over the internet and I can look it up and read about it. I did research Juvenon when I got home, and everything I found about it was like an infomercial, created by the manufacturer. They touted how this product can make you feel young again. I couldnt find any substantial medical reports or FDA reports about this concoction, which in fact did nothing for meWhen my blood test results came in, the nurse called me with results. She rattled off numbers into the phone, telling me the range I should fall within to be considered normal. I asked if I can speak with the doctor to discuss the results, and never received a follow-up call. I guess the doctor was going to go over the results in my next visit, which I never scheduled.I was left with the impression that this office functions in a specific manner, to efficiently move the patients through and sell them as many things as they can along the way. They will treat one issue per patient per visit. (The form I had to fill out asking what my chief complaint was confirmed this). I left there with a bad taste in my mouth, feeling scammed. I would only recommend this office if you have simple easily treatable, like a sinus infection in which you need antibiotics, but be prepared for them to suggest other things their partners can treat.
