I went send an enemy to this office. The floor of the exam was covered in blood, old blood. After a two hour wait for the Doctor I walked out!!!

I had an anal fissure for 6 months.. tried the creams and the botox injection and ended up getting advancement flap surgery by another doctor. I was still in pain 3 months after the surgery and then saw Dr. Stein. She diagnosed that I had a new fissure on one of the edges of the flap. She had a completely different approach to dealing with fissures and gave me specific details on what my diet should be. After 10 months of being in pain, after I saw Dr. Stein, within 6 weeks the pain went away.

Dr. Stein has given my mother top care. She is a dedicated and true doctor. Her assistant, Wendy, is great as well, handles so much with grace and humor. We thank you two very much.

Dr. Stein was incredible. I am a 50-year old male, full time professional/corporate job, husband and Dad, frequent jogger. Experienced severe pain "down there." Excruciating. Stein put me on a diet, ointment and Advil regimen to see if it could be fixed that way, but at about the 3-week mark, we knew a surgical procedure was the way to go. I am talking many sleepless nights and unrelenting pain. She incised one roid, tied off two, treated a fistula, which included "the most Botox she'd ever used on a patient." There is no way around the first 3, 5 ish days being painful and demanding on the will, resolve and pain endurance (this after 6 weeks of enduring the condition pre-surgery), but what she did, after three weeks, has made me a new man (I started to feel on the track to normalcy after 5-7 days). Her bedside manner, thoroughness, accessibility, plainspeak in how she explained everything to expect and what her approach was going to be, were nothing shy of first rate. I'm… grateful for how she treated me, and that goes to Wendy her assistant who could not have been more kind, resourceful and caring.

I don't know if it was Stein' s fault or the hospital's, but after surgery they sent me home without running required tests. I developed a massive intestinal infection and went into kidney failure. I nearly died, without exaggeration. My husband acted quickly and took me to a renowned hospital and out of Stein' s care. I recovered slowly over weeks and months, but she was not too quick to accept responsibility and I don't think I'd see her again. Plus one doesn't exactly get the warm fuzzies from her.

Perhaps no one is perfect therefore no one should be rated perfect? Well there are exceptions and Susan Stein is one of the exceptions. Dr. Stein is well educated, professional, well recommended and extremely competent. All the reasons I chose her, but not the reasons I stayed with her. She empathized with my problems, she gave me realistic choices, and treated me with respect. Bowel issues create major sensitivites however, Dr. Stein has seen it all, heard it all and treated them all.

Dr. Susan Stein is caring, precise and extremely effective. She will help you with problems without making you feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. In my case, she took the time to figure out how to solve a long-standing problem that other physicians gave up on solving. In one visit (with a follow-up) she took care of the problem. I recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent, caring physician who will offer innovative solutions that work.
