Dr. Susan Lea Turkington, MD

I have been with this practice for almost 20 years. Dr Turkington is the best. She is thorough, compassionate and knowledgable. I have had a few medical scares over the past 5 years and she has been ablet to refer me to the most amazing doctors to handle my care. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my primary care. To those who are complaining about the care and the staff, it makes me seriously wonder if they have the wrong practice because these folks are awesome!

Really like Dr Turkington. Great bedside manner.

Dr. Turkington was a good doctor for me but her staff made me switch Doctors. In the last two years I have seen her, I used their prescription message line to leave a request for a prescription. The nurse never calls back and I had to each time call back and get firm. Only then did the nurse call back and tell me that my prescription was ready. BUT when I go to pick up the prescription, either it's the wrong prescription or the prescription wasn't called in. The last request which blew my mind and made me switch was unacceptable. I called and asked for copies of my last two blood test results. Very simple request and the person I spoke to spoke English. So when I went to pick them up, it's a good thing that I checked. LOL, I checked because of the constant mistakes by staff there. Guess what was in the envelope - an order for a blood test and not the results. Further it was just for one year when I had asked for the last two years. I then told the person at the… reception desk what I needed and she looked at me like she had never heard of a blood test result before and asked me "What I needed." Now, I don't work in a Dr's office but if someone asks me for a blood test result, I can guarantee you I know what they are talking about. At this point, I had had it with the incompentency and switched Doctors. If there was a way to talk to Dr. Turkington I would have but you always get the "What is this in response to" or "I can help you." Not worth the effort. So I post this in hopes that it help someone and maybe even Dr. Turkington to change things. Also, a neighbor had told me she had had a hard time with Dr. Turkington after my first appointment. So this is not a random experience. Most likely people are busy and don't bother to post. Good luck in your search for a good doctor!

Dr. Turkington's nurse Kathy is worthless and communicates very poorly. Information was passed through her to Dr. Turkington and when I received information back; it wasnt related to what my request was. I ended up questioning what Kathy had passed to Dr. Turkington and sure enough, she didnt pass what was initially asked. Again, she was way off and she began to get very defensive. Not to mention, when I did receive the call back from Kathy, she had called the wrong number and asked for a name besides mine. When I told her she had called the wrong person, she seemed to have lost focus in what she was trying to accomplish. I had a very unpleasant first visit to this office and afterwards, I searched the internet and found lots of bad reviews on them. I wish I had searched and read the reviews before scheduling an appointment as I would have never chose this office for my health care needs. Highly recommend all to search and reads the many poor reviews on this office.

Wouldn't see her again...rude, condescending and I had to keep prompting her and her staff as to what I should do next for my problem. This office is a referral factory. They limit the number of problems you can discuss in one visit.

My wife and I are both patients of Dr. Turkington, and I think she is a wonderful practitioner who asks the right questions and is genuinely interested in her patients. My wife's only complaint is that she doesn't like the other Dr's in the office as much as Dr. Turkington, and several times she has gone in at the last minute and not been able to see Dr. Turkington because she is so popular.
