Dr. Susan Pauline Welgrin, MD

Went to this office and saw Dr. Welgrin because I thought I had strep throat. She immediately told me I was overweight and all the problems of being overweight and I should do something about it. This “advice” was unsolicited. I just wanted a strep test. I had to interject to tell her why I was there. She is not my doctor, and as a result of her caustic manner, never will be. Who wants to go to the doctor when you’re not feeling well to get a speech about weight loss? Shame on you.

I woke up very ill on a Sunday, before leaving on a trip and thankfully her office was opened. I only waited 5 minutes. She is thorough and just wonderful. Thank goodness for her! I was actually surprised to receive a call on Monday, while at the airport from her nurse asking how I was feeling. My primary doctor never has done that.

The staff was misleading and rude. I was told that my insurance plan, NSLIJ was taken, however, she is not a participating doctor in the NSLIJ plan. Now I have a huge bill to pay and was told by the staff that it is not their problem. Would never recommend this.

This feels less like a clinic and more like a doctor's office, which is unique for an immediate care facility.
