Dr. Susannah Scovil Wise, MD

As a doctor myself, when I was searching for a surgeon for a lipoma removal, from a very sensitive area, I was very selective. I asked literally 20 colleagues who the best person for this procedure was. Dr Wise's name came up constantly. I was incredibly happy they referred me to Dr Wise. The surgery went great. Dr Wise is incredibly skilled. The staff at both her office and the plum street surgery center were all professional and caring. Couldn't give a strong enough recommendation!

My Wife needed Hernia surgery. We did not know where to go and we heard some things we didn't quite believe from other Surgeons. So I called my Cousin who is a prominent Dr. of Pediatric medicine. She recommended right off the top of her head, Dr. Susannah Wise. Dr. Wise took the approach that no mesh was needed, different that what we had heard before.The repair is still fine over 5 years since. As our personal Physician has confirmed. Top notch staff in every way from start to endpoint. We and especially I were both confident from the minute we got to the office. The Hospital Robert Wood Johnson and everything. In my old finicky and picky opinion, and especially with my Wife of 36 years? Dr. Wise was clearly the way to go. We are truly grateful for her expertise and manner.

My surgery experience with Dr. Wise was excellent. The entire process before, during and after surgery was very smooth. All the staff was very friendly, comforting and extremely professional. All the symptoms after surgery were exactly as Dr. Wise had explained. Recovery process was quick and almost painless. Dr. Wise and her team did an excellent job. Thank you.

She is a good doctor with the absolute worst office staff in the world. You can't get anyone to answer the phone and when you get through and leave a message the nurse won't call you back. I say, run fast and hard right back through the exit door. There is no way I will ever refer anyone back to this office. It is a horror!

Besides being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Wise has a great personality. She takes time to talk to and listen to you. You never feel rushed. She is compassionate and caring. Her staff is a reflection of her. I highly recommend Dr. Wise.

Staff vs physician... There is no comparison. I just thank God that the staff wasn't operating on me. Dr. Wise herself is a no-nonsense, tell it like it is surgeon. I would recommend her to anyone requiring a surgical procedure. Biggest drawback? Dr. Wise is part of a HUGE surgical group. That in itself causes delays with appointments, etc. I'm not a patient with patience and my consult appt. had me waiting for her for almost two hours. Despite it being a long day for everyone, she was most apologetic for the delay and got right down to business. What could make anything better to recommend anyone to Dr. Wise? If she had her own practice! I believe that her competence would ensure a most efficient and friendly staff. If you're looking for a surgeon to hold your hand and whisper sweet fluff at you... move on. If you're looking for a surgeon who is tops with her work? This is the number to call!

I was diagnosed with GERD and Barrett's Esophosgus about two years ago. One of the reasons for my problem was having a hiatal hernia. Dr. Wise was recommended to me by another doctor and I couldn't be happier. Four days ago I had the surgery to fix the hernia and can't say enough to thank Dr. Wise for her expetise. I feel better already, she was always available, gave me her contact information, checked on me while I was in hospital and after I was discharged. I would recommend her wholeheartedly.
