Dr. Suzanne Rene Lesage, MD

I was leary of going to yet another neurologist for MS. However for my first appointment Dr. Lesage took 1 1/2 hours. She is extremely intelligent and you can tell she takes her work seriously and to heart. I admired her intuitiveness and her frankness. I don't need to be caddled and given false hope. She also has diagnosed a new autoimmune disease of which I have been experiencing a lot of pain and am forever grateful for that diagnosis as life had become not worth living because of it. She is kind, caring and informative. And usually right! More than anything, I admire her intelligence of neuro problems. I would very highly recommend this awesome Doctor!

The wait for a follow up appointment, for established patients that require ongoing care, is now 5 months minimum. This even if the Dr. herself cancels an established appointment due to personal conflicts, weeks before that appointment. This is, quite simply, absurd? Insane? Negligent? How can a Doctor manage a patient when the soonest they can be seen for follow up is 5 months later? Boggles the mind.

If it was not for Dr. Lesage I don't know where or how I would be today. She was my doctor at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem NC. She knew what I was going through before I even told her. She is the most understanding, caring, knowledgeable, patient, kind doctor I have ever met. I will always have a place in my heart for her, thanks to her I do have the quality of life that I have today. I wish some way I could commute to Baltimore because she would be my doctor right now. There has not been a doctor before her or after her that understood what my disease does and the effect it has on your life. I don't have to tell anyone how lucky they are to have her because her patients know how lucky they are.
