Dr. Suzanne R Steinbaum, DO

Dr. Steinbaum has treated me for 10 years. She is thorough and spends quite a bit of time questioning you to ensure he has proscribed the correct tests and medication. She with other doctors to ensure her decisions are correct. The best of the best/

Dr. Steinbaum is an alarmist and assumes if you are over weight that you are in bad shape. She assumes everyone should be extremely thin like her, and does not take genetics into play. As others have commented, she makes you take your blood work after eating and then alarms you with your cholesterol, then she gets you so nervous, that your blood pressure skyrockets and she urges you to get on medication immediately in high doses that you do not need.. After being treated by Dr. Steinbaum for several months and put into panic mode, I had all the tests repeated by other qualified physicians, and nothing was wrong, besides trying to lose more weight. She had me so nervous, that it affected my life. In addition, she stated she was worried about me, but never once every reached out to me to see how I was when I cancelled my appointment.. As a male patient, she made me uncomfortable, and would eat her lunch in front of me on my appointments and kept answering her cell phone. I would… think twice about going there again.

I just had a heart test done in her office.......she was not there at the time....she was due in at 11 that day. She did not call me with the results. The next day when I called I was told she was at some meeting with the AMA and could not speak to me. I called again a third time the following day and was told she was not in but my test results were not changed from the last time. I have no idea who authorized that staff member to give me test results. It would have been nice to be able to speak to my doctor personally. She likes to schedule tests but is never around for follow up. Her patients take a back seat to her TV appearances and books and whatever extra curricular activities she is involved in. She used to be much better than this.

Dr. Steinbaum is an extremely knowledgeable and congenial individual. Her office staff is incompetent, disrespectful, disorganized, and uncooperative ...

I have seen Dr. Steinbaum for several years. I think she is an excellent person, doctor and diagnostician. I tried to continue to see her because she is the absolute best but her staff is the absolute worst and it is because of her most incompetent staff that I have finally given up. I have surrendered and I now need to find another cardiologist who is not encumbered by having stupid people working for them.

I like Dr. Steinbaum very much but I have noticed within the last year it is more difficult to get HER to keep an appointment after it is made. Apparently she is involved on TV, and works with Kellogs or some other such group, and often times her staff will call to reschedule an appointment I have had for weeks for a TV appearance or whatever else she does. I belive she is working on a book too. She is trying to make a name for herself at the expense of her patients...which is a shame because she happens to be a good doctor. May have to start looking for another one who wants to be a FULL time doctor.

I agree that Dr. Steinbaum is amazing, but I will be looking for another cardiologist because of her staff. I never feel welcome or comfortable when I arrive there.....I have been getting bills for my office visits when the doctor participates in my insurance plan and I have wasted a lot of time making calls to get the billing issues straightened out. They always manage to "Miss" something if they are setting up testing for you...and there is virtually NO follow up.....you need to be on top of them or you will never get the results of any tests done outside the office. Dr. Stein baum is EXCELLENT I must say in getting your blood lab results out to you immediatley. Its a shame because she is so good.....but her staff just is not worth the aggravation anymore.

Unfortuntly her staff leaves a LOT to be desired. They are cold and indifferent for the most part. They display the "Frozen" politeness that I personally find very frustrating because it is obviously staged. When tests need to be set up you have to constantly call because you can slip through the cracks easily. It is a shame because Dr. Steinbaum is one of the smartest most compassionate doctors I have ever met. The staff she employs does NOT reflect the same caring or professionalism.

I saw Dr. Steinbaum at her new office at 110 E 59th St. Dr. Steinbaum is a great cardiologist to go to if you seek an alternative to being instantly thrown on medication. She looks at you as a whole person and tries to find the cause/s of your problem and fix it permanently (if possible) rather than temporarily with medication. I strongly recommend her. She is honest and she will tell you how to make healthy life style changes. You must come with an open mind and be able to take healthy criticism.

I think Dr Steinbaum is wonderful...what a bedside manner..I went cause I was having palpitations and also I am overweight and get very nervous in doctor's offices...she did an EKG, echo, blood work, more specialized blood works...etc etc...her staff was very kind...and she is just so patient and never rushes you...Love it there...
