Dr. Suzette Elisabeth Sutherland, MD

The worst doctor I’ve ever seen. Put me through 8 hours of surgery. I was her guinea pig. She installed gynecological mesh that was brand new and has since been pulled from the market. When it didn’t work for my incontinence she wanted to add more mesh and pull it tighter. I had to go to another surgeon (Mayo Clinic) to have the mesh removed because it eroded into my vagina. Dr. Sutherland was arrogant and uncaring. Thank goodness I found another surgeon to correct her incompetence.

I went to this doctor for an ongoing urology issue. she was rude and even sighed when I asked her a question! I am now being seen at Swedish Urology and the urologist I am seeing is very nice, listens and has ran a couple different tests.

I had my first visit with Dr Sutherland today. She asked many questions and took time to be accurate with her notes. She did an examination and explained what the procedure was and why she was doing it. She gave me some helpful tips and set up an appointment to go over my labs. I never thought I'd ever have to see a urologist, but I'm happy it was with her.

No one wants to go to the doctor- but Dr Sutherland listened, compiled data & cared! I would strongly recommend her to anyone who has “doctor anxiety.”

Very fortunate to have Dr Sutherland assisting me. Having complex issues, Dr is a hard worker, highly intelligent, very professional doctor, scientist. Educator, cutting edge, innovative problem solver. Very rare today to find this composite. I am.not usually impressed with the medical professionals however if more were like Dr Sutherland. We would advance science and medicine light years. She is a brilliant star in the universal sea of knowledge.

The most selfabsorbed person I have ever met. No compassion, caring or empathy. I would suggest finding a different doctor for these types of problems.

My experience with doctor Sutherland was HORRIBLE. I saw her a couple times and she was always so rude and made me feel like my issues were all in my head. Did not listen to me AT ALL. She continued to misdiagnose me after I told her several times I did not think I had that. I ended up changing to different doctor who actually listened to me and ran several different tests that dr Sutherland was not willing to do. Do not go to this doctor!!!

I saw Dr. Sutherland yesterday for some urogynecological issues. I had seen 2 different doctors previously and had been having problems for two years with no definitive answers or treatments. Dr. Sutherland was running an hour late so I assumed this would be another rushed appointment with an assumed diagnosis and treatment. WRONG. She took an HOUR with me to go over history, what I'd tried in the past, and then worked with me to strategize a treatment. Yes she typed copious notes on the computer, but showed me the screen as she typed asking me to make sure the notes were accurate. I liked that part. I never felt marginalized or ignored. On the contrary, no only did I get some alternate treatment options, but she explained how the treatments actually worked in the body which was much more than my previous 2 docs had done. Thank you Dr. Sutherland.

She took the time to understand that while being disabled and larger has its own issues. I didn't feel rushed and she was very gentle. I would recommend her and I have.

Horrible bedside manner. Went to her with a friend. Barley looked up from the computer. Didnt even touch my friend. No exam. When we asked questions she just stared at her computer. When we tried to ask questions she told us to read a pamphlet! As a fellow physician myself in family medicine this is just aweful. My advise. Find another empathetic human. Avoid this physician. She either hates her job or needs a long vacation. Being a health care provider can be tough. Trust me i know. But the second you lose your empathy, that is when you should wuit or find a diff profession. Her complete lack of empathy was appaling.
