Dr. Svetlana Rose Songco Sembrano, MD

My appointment with Dr. Sembrano was an absolute waste of time. She continually talked over me, didn't listen to the information I had to provide, and our appointment was over within 12 minutes. I had zero confidence or trust in her after the appointment.

I've never met a more uncaring psychiatrist. She is registered to take patients in many states through MDlive and she confirmed my location prior to the appt. During the appt she asked me very irrelevant invasive questions (like why my mom lost custody of me as a child) for 12 min and then tells me she can't help me because she's not local to me. WTF?? So what this provider does is she takes a lot of new patients on MDlive, makes 350 bucks in minutes then tells people to find a local provider. I saw my local provider virtually as well. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? She wasn't rude, but the very first thing she told me was she couldn't help me because she's not in my state. THEN WHY DID YOU WASTE MY TIME AND TAKE MY MONEY? She is a scam artist.

What visit? She canceled on me two hours before the visit. I’m not convinced she’s even a real person.

I hate putting negative reviews .. infact I NEVER do it unless i'm really bothered! I booked an appointment, got a confirmation and it was set for 72hrs after I set it up...and thenthis morning i get a crappy email... SHE CANCELS ON ME ON THE DAY OF!!! HOW FREAKING UNPROFESSIONAL!!! YOU ABSOLUTELY WASTED MY TIME AND TIME IS MONEY!! NEVER MIND I WILL TAKE MY NEEDS SOMEWHERE ELSE where they will be handled with respect! so irritated

Rude, Aggressive and Dismissive . She seems ready to do battle more than help She didn't seem to care about what I was experiencing nor saying. Beware if you are looking for guidance and compassion as you navigate mentally illness she is not provider.

Dr Sembrano is very difficult to get an appointment with. Every time I made an appoint through MDLive, she sent me a message saying that appointment was for new patients only and she would call me the next day to squeeze squeeze me in. Then, I would have to stay by my phone all day playing phone tag. I have a full time career and couldn't always pick up when she called. After seeing her for nearly a year, she dropped me without warning and gave me a 15-Day Rx. It's nearly impossible to get a new patient appointment in 2 weeks. I am calling psychiatrists all over the city trying to get an appointment before I go cold turkey on ssris. In addition, Dr Sembrano's bedside manner is terrible. I always felt unwelcome in my appoints. When I asked her questions about certain testing my therapist recommended, she told me to ask them for that and immediately ended the appt. Appointments lasted 10 min or less, she was always disinterested. I had a terrible experience as her patient.

Jesus where do I begin? Yes this woman acts like she has supreme authority as God in your life. She enjoys taking the place of your savior and is reminiscent of a highly narcissistic egotist. She also would tell me I was being impulsive because she has the audacity to be the one to constitute what gets to be right and wrong. What gets to be impulsive only when it makes her happy. She too would tell me I was making excuses when I wasn't pleasing her appetite for 30 year old wisdom. What more can I say? She lacks common sense and hides behind a college degree when she doesn't understand the topic at hand which is about 85% of the time. I saw her for 3 years at Progressive Behavioral Health in friendswood. What am I saying? Does it matter? She won't understand either way. Hahaha. You shouldn't be a doctor. You look like someone who was forced to be one to make mommy and daddy happy. -Roger Navas

I love this doctor. She’s very patient and communicates well. She’s the first psychologist that I’m totally comfortable speaking with. I would definitely recommend her.

I’m not sure why her reviews aren’t strong. She was receptive and supportive. I’m not really comfortable with counseling and talking about the problems I have but she made me feel comfortable and listened to everything I said.
