Dr. Swarna Tammana

Staff, always pleasant and helpful. PA's caring and take time to listen. Dr. Tammana, also takes her time to listen, has a calming manner and my blood pressure doesn't shoot sky high just being in a doctor's office.

So my regular primary suddenly disappears. Then I start having medical issues ( good timing). I went in spoke to her and I felt very comfortable with her. She actually saved my life, I told her that. I go in and talk to her and I believe any other Doctor would have dismissed my symptoms and sent me home. She sent me to the emergency room and yep, there was a big issue. I'm sure there are very nice Doctors/ good doctors all over Flemington. I happened to find one.

Saw Dr. Tammana because my PCP of 15 yrs has disappeared. Thought I'd simplify my life by at least seeing a local PCP. Have many well managed chronic issues that are followed by specialists on varying frequencies. She was slow to take a history. Wasn't interested in following me as a whole. Wasn't able to prescribe modest amounts of oxidocodone to have on hand for kidney stones which I'm lucky enough to have on a frequent basis. Made me feel like a drug seeker though I offered her access to my pharmacy and urologist. Will never return to this practice, and told her so. Go elsewhere if you actually need a competent doctor....and was one hour late for appointment claiming that I was an hour early....

I think Dr. Tammana is pretty representative of the new orders of doctors who are no longer Islands of information to themselves and are also more accountable then ever to "the system". They have to deal with "more informed" patients who eat and exercise less then they should. Probably needs to improve her holistic approach about medicine more then just relying on Meds. But saying that, I have no concept if whether the "company" she works with allows her to do this or not. For better or worse, Doctors were more independent in the past with their private practices. Group practices probably now mean "group" rules to abide by. But overall, a good human being out to do good things for folks.

She's pretty cold and tried to fit everyone in the same diagnostic "box." She's also a bit overly sensitive, so I often find myself having to worry about her defensive feelings when I'm the sick one!

Dr Swarna Tammana is BEST among the rest of the doctors you can find in Silver Spring, MD area. She is very professional and at the same time very easy to go about. She listens very well and understand your problem. Very helpfull and for her - patient's intrest comes first. She does followup on a timely base and make sure you have enough medications. she is well educated and smart. I was her patient for the past 3 years and almost cried when she moved on from her medial practice at Montgomery Family Medicine to other office. I am determined to find her and will be her patient forever. I have no choice as she is the BEST. I wish all other doctors atleast try to be like her!!
