Dr. Syed Shabaz Azeem, MD

He doesn't write down what is discussed during appointments. I had lumbar spinal fusion surgery and it didn't resolve my pre surgery symptoms. He refused to write down any of those concerns on the follow-up appointment notes. On reading the MRI results, he doesn't read anything other than the region the surgery was performed on despite other issues in other parts of the spine.

Dr. Azeem is a skilled and excellent Neurosurgeon. He performed by Microvascular Decompression for Trigeminal Neuralgia, and the operation was a complete success. He is kind, very experienced, and someone I highly recommend!

I took notes for a friend at the visit. I am very familiar with neurosurgeons, and if I needed one, I would definitely choose him.

I am one hundred percent confident that I made the best choice in selecting Dr. FAzeem and Dr. Fishman to remove a 3 centimeter brain tumor in April, 2013. The clarity of communication before and after surgery was perfect. While the surgery I had can no doubt have a variety of outcomes beyond the doctor's control, I am pleased to say there were no serious setbacks or long-term complications from mine. The surgeons did exactly what they told me they would, which is remove the tumor with minimal temporary facial nerve damage, and zero long-term damage. I sought a second opinion when the tumor was diagnosed, and investigated other surgical teams in the Midwest and Southern California areas. After talking with my family and friends, several of whom are doctors, we decided that Drs. Azeem and Fishman had the experience and facilities for the best possible outcome. I can confidently recommend to anyone that is diagnosed with something as complicated, life-threatening, and… immediate (or more so) as my tumor that Dr. Azeem is capable of delivering the best possible outcome. I would also like to say that Dr. Azeem's staff is phenomenal and were incredibly supportive before and after the surgery.
