Dr. Syeda Uzma Abbas

I love UM and have done everything to support it since I moved here from LA. The medical school has such potential but until they weed out the bad apples it will be stuck as Baptist and Mt. Sinai charge forward. I had to be admitted to the hospital for a routinue procedure and sadly got the bad card with Dr. Abbas. She is so rude, argumentative, has no respect for the patient and most importantly is an alarmist about everything. She made what would have been a good experience horrible with her constant questioning of the specialists, refusal to listen and has the attitude that she is more than anyone. I explained my long history and in the middle she cut me off and said she doesn't have time for "chit chat." She never responds to the pages that are given and bad mouths the hospital she works in. President Shalala and the Dean of the Miller School: LET HER GO NOW SHE IS RUINING YOUR BUSINESS.

Condescending know-it-all attitude which would've been acceptable except for in the case of my diagnosis, she was DEAD WRONG - and I knew it! She reminds me of what I've read/learned that early 20th century physicians were like, a smattering of competents, but most were HACKS!!!!!!.....I would not recommend her to anyone - under any circumstances. Yuck.
