Dr. Sylvie Jeanloz, LCSW

Sylvie Jeanloz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who brings 25 years of experience providing strength based individual, family, and group therapy to children, youth, and adults. Sylvie worked in both inpatient and community based settings, including mental health clinics and schools, as a clinician as well as an administrator. Specific areas of interest and experience include anxiety and depression, marital/partnership concerns, life change adjustment (e.g. retirement), sexual orientation/gender identity related issues, adoption related issues, eating disorders, substance abuse, and PTSD/trauma, including loss and emotional/physical/sexual abuse. Sylvie’s goal is to provide her patients with a meaningful therapeutic experience, partnering with them, to help transform negative thoughts and patterns of behavior related to themsleves and their environment into ones that will help them to experience greater self-appreciation and interpersonal success. She can help by focusing on …development of more productive ways to handle life’s challenges as well as to understand and address issues from the past that may be standing in the way. She will develop a plan together with her patient, one that will allow them to address the patient’s concerns at their own pace. Sylvie has always had a strong interest in, and commitment to, working with people who have been impacted by trauma. Her commitment has led to many years of providing counseling to individuals and families who have survived traumatic experiences, to developing and running programs aimed at preventing and treating individuals and families impacted by abuse, and also to serving on both local and state-wide committees aimed at preventing abuse and advocating on behalf of children and families who have been impacted by abuse.
