Dr. Syndee Jill Givre, MD

Excellent visit with an extremely intelligent neuro-ophthalmologist. Dr. Givre provided me with exceptional care, and I trusted her assessment of my condition completely. She is forthright in her approach to patients, which I appreciate. I found her to caring and capable. Would recommend her very highly to anyone.

Was somewhat apprehensive about my referral to this physician after reading the reviews. However after my visit I can enthusiastically state Dr. Givre exceeded my expectations. She took time to answer all my questions, was very patient-centric, and truly provided a quality experience. Her assistant, Brenda, explained all my testing in detail; my subsequent referral to a retinal specialist was managed very well by Shamikka, her office manager.

Dr Givre was personal and thorough, two traits I require in a medical professional.

She is so arrogant and rude. Duke Eye. Don’t waste your time and copay money on this nasty woman

Did not do a thorough exam. Bluntly said I don't know what your problem is and your ent will have to figure out. Spend a total of 15 mins with me for a neurological exam. Do not go here. However her staff was nice.

I found Dr. Givre and her support staff to be completely professional, patient, thorough and most importantly, careful in explaining her exam conclusions. She speaks in a quietly modulated voice, maintaining eye contact and encouraging questions.

Unfortunately, the only Neuro-Ophthalmologist in area. I did not get what I expected from my visit. She did a thorough exam and summarily referred me out. Her office persona is rushed and distant.

Unfortunately there aren't many doctors like her in the area so you have no choice but to see her. She really just made me feel like my disease was my fault. I recently moved and have been seeing a new neuro-op who has been so much better! He listens, explains, and really seems to care about me as an individual patient.

Dr Givre's credentials are not for Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmology. She is board certified in Ophthalmology, but not Neurology, and she has NO BUSINESS WORKING WITH CHILDREN or ADOLESCENTS. She has no bedside manner; very detached; very condescending. She does like to toot her own horn. She interrupted my daughter, my husband, and myself, and treated us as if we were idiots. She told my daughter in a very punitive and negative manner basically that her disease was her own fault. We were all shocked and amazed at her unprofessionalism and uncompassionate demeanor. We will NOT return to see her, even if we have to drive out of town. I am so disappointed in the "Physician". She doesn't deserve the title, regardless of her education, which is impressive. Too bad they didn't teach her any interpersonal communication skills and certainly no compassion.

She was absolutely THE rudest, most impatient and unfriendly doctor I have ever met.
