She is nice and very detailed in asking you a questions, She explained everything, aggressive, she is very caring this is my first encounter with her and she is nice and caring

Unfortunately when I switched jobs, I was forced into Kaiser and the worse part is giving up Dr. Cheney as a physician. I have been going to her for over ten years. During that time, I had some health issues which were a little bizarre. She asked many questions and told me that she thought it could be "one of a few things" - which she then explained what they could be, described the testing necessary to investigate. I was shocked when tests confirmed the initial diagnosis of something that I had never heard of before. I swore afterwards that I would never switch doctors voluntarily; I was so impressed with her intelligence and her bedside manner. I hate to give her up as a doctor, and if I were able to have any plan other than Kaiser I would go back in a heartbeat. She is a keeper!

About 14 years ago I moved to Fremont and was looking for a family physician. I interviewed many doctors looking for someone who is knowledgeable, who pays attention to me and my familys health problems and not to be so quick to prescribe antibiotics. Having a medical background and being from Europe this aspect was very important to me. I chose Dr. Tamara Cheney based on her approach, treatment and follow up. After all these years, Dr. Cheney is still my familys physician and I cannot be happier. She has been the right choice for me! Every time I visit her I get all the attention, information, care and follow up. She has been the most dedicated doctor I have ever known. If you are looking for a no nonsense doctor she is the one! However, you need to know one thing about her. If there is someone in the waiting room without an appointment but very sick and in need of urgent care Dr. Cheney will take this person and you will wait a little bit longer. One time I waited about… 45 minutes but then I learned that Dr. Cheney was taking care of a very sick little girl. Since then, I understand the wait and knowing that someone who needs the doctor more urgently than I do gets taken care of. I really prefer it this way because someday I might be in that person needing special care.So again, if you need a no nonsense, dedicated doctor, Dr. Tamara Cheney is the one. However, if you are looking for someone who will always be on time and rushing through appointments to stay on time dont bother to become her patient. Her time is too valuable to those people who can appreciate her dedication.

caring, she doesn't seem to miss muchvery experienced

I didn't feel welcomed by her at all. She was very rude to me, actually making fun of me for taking some medicines and that I didn't know about some medicines (as if it was MY job to be the doctor and knows these things). Not only that, but she personally insulted me for my college and career choices, saying she "didn't envy the life I was going to have." She also made fun of me for being a college student and NOT drinking. Extremely unprofessional; I am now seeking a new doctor who treats me the way a real doctor should.

I waited forever to see Dr. Cheney, and the office staff lost my file, blamed me for not following up with my insurance carrier, failed to forward test information to a neurologist they referred me to. I will never step foot in this office again. If you want good personalized care, Cheney and her staff at Center Medical do NOT fit the bill.
